Sucks that McCullar wound up hurt again, apparently. Hard to find news about it.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Knicks took a flier on Donovan Williams for the rest of the season. Worth a shot to see what he can do in spot minutes.

We couldn't call him up. We can't afford another pro-rate vet min deal for another week or so, and Okeke isn't eligible for a two-way deal anymore.

Still amazed we could not get another team to just absorb Sims remaining contract

Would that be better? Sure guard depth isn't exactly a priority but Wright is playable and we can still sign Okeke next weekend.

We needed a tall wing and a shot blocking big. We don't need a 6'4" combo guard (aka what 1/2 our team is made of)

Well we're getting the latter soon (Robinson) and might be getting the former soon (Okeke) as well. So why not get Wright too? Who could we have gotten that we can't still get, if not for Wright?

I think Warren is the most likely add, but I was hoping we would also drop Wright for Brown just so that we have that depth. Nothing against Okeke, but I know Warren is a bucket and I know that Brown is going to block a shot.

Brown isn't an NBA player otherwise one of the 29 other NBA teams who have had him on the GL would have given him a look. Being long and jumping at everything doesn't make someone an NBA player. We have Hukporti for that role until Mitch is back.

And if the FO decides for Warren over Okeke they can still do that...though I doubt they will. Okeke could actually play for us when injuries hit, Warren would just be another Toppin.

Mavs Sign Moses Brown To 10-Day Contract

February 19: The Mavericks are planning to sign center Moses Brown to a 10-day contract, his agent Ryan Davis tells Shams Charania of ESPN (Twitter link).

NBA insider Marc Stein, who first reported that Dallas intended to sign a center to a 10-day deal and identified Brown as a candidate, says the big man will audition for the team today and could officially sign as soon as this afternoon if all goes according to plan (Twitter links).

We cannot drop Wright for anyone. We can only add ONE player on a vet mini in one week. I would assume that Warren can get any minutes Chum bucket could get. We need length and scoring off the bench more than anything. Warren provides both and is a better player than anyone on that team.

I think it's safe to say that Warren will be on the squad next weekend.

I was responding to a poster who was lamenting that we took Wright back for Sims and couldn't just dump Jericho, in which case we would've been able to afford a vet min right away plus the prorated vet min deal we'll be able to afford next week. I just don't see who we could've gotten who would've made a meaningful difference.

We'll see, but Warren was a bad defender even before being crippled by injuries so at this point he's a poor man's Bojan, I don't see why anyone would think Thibs would give him any minutes. Okeke is at least an NBA level defender and is shooting 37% on decent volume. That's someone Thibs might actually play.

I think that some of us forget that players like Toppin and Williams and Warren are playing against G-League level players. An analogy of these players to baseball would equate them to AAAA players...top of the minors and not good enough to be major leaguers. Okeke couldn't crack the Sixers roster. Let's see if Brown can make it again in Dallas....
