State Dept. Plans $400 Million Purchase of Armored Tesla Cybertrucks
While it was in its planning phases, the deal with Tesla was forecast to be the largest contract of the year. It shows how some of his wealth has come and was still expected to come from taxpayers before the plans were put on hold. His companies obtain hundreds of millions of dollars each year in contracts. SpaceX has secured nearly $20 billion in federal funds since 2008 to ferry astronauts and satellites into space.
Something something misuse of government funds. Something something corruption. Something something slush fund and money laundering.
https://www.wral.com/story/fact-check-is-the-state-department-about-to-pay-tesla-400-million-for-cybertrucks/21860274/But on X, the social media platform Musk owns, he wrote Feb. 13, "I’m pretty sure Tesla isn’t getting $400M. No one mentioned it to me, at least."
In a statement to PolitiFact, the State Department confirmed Tesla isn’t in store for that money. The department said the Biden administration had pursued the possible purchase. Biden had signed an executive order in 2021 encouraging government agencies to buy electric vehicles when possible.
The department also said that specifying "Tesla" in the spreadsheet was an error. The statement said that only one company had responded to the offering, and that was Tesla, but that the spreadsheet should have cited a generic electric vehicle manufacturer rather than Tesla specifically, since it was open to any company. It described the bid solicitation as being on hold, with "no current plans to issue it."
So you were able to find an article of Must himself denying the plan to misappropriate funds (who woulda thunk?!?) for his **** garbage dumpster on wheels. But you were not able to find the articles that specifically talk about the so called 18.9 million people over 120 years old actually being the result of a well known coding principle and not actually being 18.9 million people over that age? This is something that Must and his 17 year old hacker squad would know if they were even semi-decent at what they're doing.
I grabbed that quip from Snopes (which apparently is left leaning) to see if they'd talk about the other consequences of having those SSNs available. This is purely out of curiosity to see if they'd mention CPNs through those SSNs. To the date I linked the article, there was no mention of coding principles (COBOL?) causing it appear as if 18.9 million people are hundreds of years old. But I can say scammers will use aged & deceased SSNs for CPNs if they're not using EINs. Snope says there are still 44,000 SSN payments to those aged over 120. Coding principle or not, there's still 44,000 fraudulent payments going out at the minimum if what Snopes says is true. EDIT; actually, I don't think they go THAT old though, not the stuff over 150 and such, thats an easy flag. It'd be hilarious if there wasn't any very old SSNs like it's been reported. That would be twice now (afaik) that Elon spouted misinformation because of a lack of due diligence & ignorance.
As far as Musk goes, as it goes for every single politician I look at; there is always a chance that it's pure lies or embellishments to curry favor. If that is the case & it becomes apparent, I guess we'll see how it gets handled. If Elon had intentions to misappropriate funds, well he may have backed out before there was any viable proof of wrongdoing. In the meantime, if he's being honest lol, he's finding tons of taxpayer money.
Information comes out, I wait for the reactions from both sides to see how it's received and keep it pushing. I'm just too busy to be emotionally invested in political theater over something I can't control. I'm really curious to see if Doge is going to audit the DoD. That should be interesting.
Apparently there's been a surge of Google searches in DC for criminal defense lawyers, Rico laws, and Swiss banks lately. So something's going on and I guess we'll find out soon.
