1ST Q: SPURS 27 PISTONS 36

Yeah we're getting railroaded in transition by a more energetic and cohesive team. Where would we be without Fox and Castle? Down 20? Shudder...

You can tell that was Castle and not Vassell taking the end if Q shot because it went in. Sorry Dev mate, love you, but clutch you are not. Yet.

Biyombo and Bassey is a bouncy bigs combo.

Can we limit TOs and make more of our steal and transition chances? Let's.

Nice to see KJ keep on keeping on with the physical drives and finally getting rewarded for it.

I hate our offense when we have 4 guys just standing at the three point line hoping Paul can pass them open. EFFING MOVE!!!

Excellent point by Avery. CP3 passing to Sochan was less an invitation to shoot the 3 and more a pass back and set up CP3 with a screen and give him room to operate. BBIQ and team set up for optimal situations based on individual strengths.

Fox will have to curb some of his ISOitis tendencies and find a better balance between necessary ISO scoring and better team play.

2ND Q: SPURS 62 PISTONS 63

I'm both disappointed and happy with this Q. We did well to eliminate a double digit lead but let our 8 point lead dissipate far too easily late in the Q.

Interesting that in both Qs it was Castle taking the shot. Used to be Devin consistently. Just saying.

To level the game, our bench was excellent, led by Keldon's energy and assertiveness and touch. Leads bench with 13, part of a 43 point output.

Yes we want full team effort and engagement, but to that end we surely need far more and better from all starters not named Fox who leads us with 17. Every other starter has three or two FGAs!!! Four starters are a combined 3-9!

We're getting clobbered on the boards, 28-17 and 13-5 on O boards oof.

15 assists and 7 steals are good; 7 TOs less so.

Very impressed with our resurgent team play on both ends. Just have to pay attention to end of Q details, make sure hot 3s shooters are covered, and protect our rim better.

Keep up the togetherness and hustle.

Sean said Sochan starting second half over Dev purely for matchup purposes ignores the smelly 1-3 and -13 but ok let's go the polite route.

Sochan did well to chase down and disrupt the alley opp pass.

Dev wonky form on those transition C&S 3s. Far too forward so that he's not jumping up but leaning forward up top too much. Rushing it. Set up. Lock in. Let it fly.

Excellent point again by Avery. You don't need to hard close out an opponent who shoots 23% from 3 and actually prefers to drive. So Champagnie closing that space and getting driven on plays into opposition schemes.

Goes with what Wemby was saying about not everyone studying the game tape.

3RD Q: SPURS 80 PISTONS 101

Well that escalated quickly.

Sochan for Dev swap to help with rim protection did not work and having two poor shooters from distance in our 4/5 hampered our scoring.

Dev still not scoring. Nor is any other starter not named Fox. They have thus far combined for NINE POINTS!

Hence the 38-18 Q against. There's only so much a bench can do.
