Why should I credit Thibs for maximizing regular season wins against teams that all have different objectives but absolve him from the blame of playoffs failures when every team has the same goal as he does? Thibs has to show his value when it matters most just like players do. There is a reason Brunson is more respected around here than someone like Randle despite both of them having multiple regular season awards. If KAT comes up small in the postseason people will question his value. Thibs deserves the same scrutiny.

Honestly is there anything that could happen to make you question Thibs or is just making the postseason enough for you? What are your expectations for him and this team this year?

You first have to be realistic about the roster and your expectations of it before you can even judge the coach. Your view of what success and failure is might be different than mine depending on how you view the roster and what your expectations are of it. If the team is built to be a 2nd round at best team and they make it to the 2nd round and lose, that’s not failure that’s just who they are.

I'm not one of those people that were super high on the roster they created this off-season especially with what it cost. You can judge the players, the coach and the front office all at the same time. I'm asking you what your expectations are for the team with this coach and this roster.

I’m not that super high on the team. I don’t see a championship contender because there are too many holes and weaknesses throughout the roster. Not a good defensive team because we have two terrible defenders in Brunson and KAT who happen to be two of our better players offensively. Not enough ball handling and shot creation in the offense to provide the offense to match the elite teams. Trap Brunson and force others to create and it becomes a complete mess. It depends on playoff matchups but this team looks like another 2nd round and out team with a very small chance of reaching the conference finals.

The issue is the snake. He has been the issue for the last 15 years in every single team he's been. And we are talking about stacked superteams with Russ, Harden and Ibaka, then he joined the best or second best team in the history(up to you, but 73-9 was a fact and championship last season was a fact), then he joined Kyrie and Harden, now its with Book and CP3/Beal and fails again.

This guy is no leader, he's got no guts, he's got no mentality. And people are putting him in top 10 all time??????????????? With 2 mickey mouse rings and 15 failures on contenders???

There was a reason why KD didn't want to come to the Knicks and have the responsibility of being the guy to end our championship drought. He knew that he was incapable of being a leader on a contending team. People that say that he was the alpha dog on those Warriors teams have no idea what they're talking about. In Golden-State he was the third Robin behind Klay and Draymond and on the Nets he was Kyrie's lap dog.

Agree. Talent wise he is probably top 5 ever, but as overall greatness he is somewhere in between 40 and 50!

Small sample but the Warriors have a 4-1 record and a +12.4 net rating since trading for Jimmy.

I can't believe how little they paid for him, and how little competition there was on the trade market.

He's still one of the best players in the NBA. And a cerebral, tough-minded player like him next to Steph and Draymond? That's dangerous for the whole Western Conference.

It's crazy how underrated he still is.

We hurt the ones we love here

To your main point it's crazy how undervalued Jimmy was at the deadline. And at his age it was the perfect time to buy low. Because by the time he wears out his welcome his skills will be fading. Brilliant exit strategy on his part. Saved his team assets and is getting paid and is staying in warm weather while joining a goat. Love it for Jimmy.

Meh,

It's interchangeable. Somedays the gawd bless different dieties. And curry is one of em.

There were times when curry was the best basketball player to be on the floor. Like what he did in the last Olympics was insane. That was the pinnacle of hoops you really dont get better than that just different.

His greatness doesn't diminish brons, mj, magic, wilt, fourni3r or the other goats greatness.

Butler is 35 and making $50mil…..he will be 37 making $57mil in 2027. We would have to give up Hart, OG, Brunson or KAT to get him salary wise. So would take Mikal.

Pathetic how the league can take an average Lakers team and make them look like an elite title contender.

Lakers would be down by at least 10 points if it wasn't for the refs.
