You know when the Clippers don't want to max a guy and rather see him walk then that guy is probably not worth even half a max deal.

The NBA world is not happy with PG today lol. Lots of talk

What makes this even worse is that they weren't asking him to score as a rookie at all. Therefore, that was an excellent PER for a young wing defender, but terrible for the role he has now.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

I was maybe the only one on the forum that kept saying the Clippers letting him walk for nothing was what they had to do if the Warriors wouldn’t give a fair trade.

Nah we were here fam. I’ve been on blow it up train for a while, though the addition by subtraction era has been pleasant.

Sixers in 4 wrote:He is simply checked out; I do not think he is this bad. He is aware that this team is flawed and that he has never been the one who wants to take over. Maxey is the exact opposite, but PG is currently only vying for titles at this point in his career, and as everyone on the board is aware, this team is not going anywhere right now because Embiid is damaged goods.

That is my read anyways. I honestly don\t know why we haven\t shut down pg and embiid yet. It's over and been over. Let them both heal and try to get them healthy for next year maybe pick up a top 3 pick in the process.

To the bolded part. If he were only about titles, he would have signed a minimum deal and played next to Jokic in Denver. Or with the Bucks. Or with the Magic. Or with any other team that was unable to offer him that deal.

Do I blame him for turning down $50+?! Absolutely not. Get your money. It also comes with the scorn of everyone saying how bad you are at your job in relation to expectations and pay. It's not like he hears me from his seat on top of his wallet.

Also if I'm Sixers ownership, I fire Morey after this summer and give a **** of leniency to whomever is tasked with trying to make this team a, well, team.

I kind of feel bad for Nick Nurse. He’s too good of a coach to deal with this clown show. I’m not sure he’ll get another chance but damn.

The hard-on for Harden and incapability of actually running a competent team otherwise has left Morey more exposed than the Emperor with his new clothes.

So Nurse just wrote out his own pink slip by benching Embiid. I've never seen ayear that Embiid doesn't hate on someone.

Bingo. Morey’s reputation as this genius GM was really only due to his getting deal of getting Harden to Houston. He’s been riding that for a decade, tried to rerun it which was an unmitigated disaster.

Outside of getting Harden in Houston, every other “star” deal he made for both Houston and Philly has produced nothing of significance…

Dwight Howard?
Chris Paul?
Russell Westbrook?
Carmelo Anthony?

All still very big names when Morey was able to bring them in to Houston, but they did less than nothing… CP might have been the best pairing but the rest of the roster for Houston was just not there, and now we’re seeing the same thing in Philly.

Daryl Morey is the real sucker here giving PG such a huge contract so late in his career. sure, nobody could have predicted the steep drop off after just one season, but that contract is atrocious. Straight up booty cheek dog water swamp paste level signing him until he's 38. PG says it's all about winning, but it was more about finding that one sucker that would give him his final huge contract.

Embiid being cooked doesn't help the situation at all though, maybe he should hit up the med team that reconstructed Lonzo's knee or something. But regardless, if PG were playing with a healthy Embiid, it'd probably be pretty similar to last year with the Clippers for PG when Harden was playing out of his mind and making PG look great. The same benefits that Norm Powell is now receiving.

With a healthy Embiid PG would be having a good season. He'd be benefitting from all those doubles Embiid attracts, that aren't happening as much now or at all.

This isn’t the first time a team under him imploded due to personality clashes. There’s a reason why the Raptors fired him.

Bring back the amnesty clause for one year. Seriously needs to be done. Contracts are balancing out with this second apron business.

Would allow situations like this some relief.
