He's been impressive of late.

Not COY but he may win one some season in his coaching career.

The objective should be to bump up every Laker thread possible so every thread on 1st page of GB is a Laker thread.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

JJ could end up being the next Kerr if he can stay humble.

I think Redick has flat out been a good coach all year. The Lakers have had very obvious limitations with their roster contruction (transition defense, long rotations on defense, POA defense, clear lack of shooting, very little ability to penetrate), and there were some nights where it looked like the Lakers just had no chance.

This team, through its multiple incarnations over the year (initial roster, D'Lo fo DFS, AD for Luka, injuries) has always had a gameplan, and always executed at a high level. They've managed to gut out victories all season, even as we all waited for them to crumble into dust. Some of the losses looked so bad, but the Lakers never went on a big losing streak. They never lost 4 in a row, and their worst stretch of the season was going 3-7 back in November/December. I thought the Lakers were done, but every time I'd check the morning boxscores, I'd see that hey! the Lakers didn't lose again!

Pretty resilient bunch that has managed to not get too down during their losses. I always root against the Lakers, but this team has my begrudging respect.

He definitely has been good all year, you're right. He's far better than many expected, I think he could have a long career in coaching.
Maybe it's been that more recently he had the active wings to create movement that made his plans come more to life.

I can't fault any of JJs coaching though, in all aspects of coaching from communication to team culture to strategy to in-game correction to minutes management. Even using timeouts. He's been solid in every aspect as far as I can tell.

Both. Among many other issues, Ham's rotations were absolutely baffling.

My one critique against him earlier was whenever LA would switch everything. It seemed like he was coaching for a team he didn't yet have. My lizard conspiracy brain says they were always preparing for a team without AD on it. But it wasn't until they actually moved DLo for DFS and traded AD away that the defensive gameplans really started coming into focus. It looked like he had a bad defensive staff earlier in the season and now it looks like the exact opposite.

But it was evident he was better than Ham on day one. They play way more organized offense, and the game management isn't even close. He calls timeouts when teams go on runs, he always uses the use-it-or-lose-it 3rd timeout before the 3 minute mark to give Bron a rest, he doesn't go home sitting on his challenges. He just does the basics well.

He could also be the next Phil Jackson with 11 nba titles if the Lakers trade for Wemby and replace Lebron with SGA. Yes, we can all speculate on things that won't happen. Lebron will play at least one more season with how he's playing no and Luka isn't going to bolt, plus Luka can't bolt before next season so he would already be ahead of Luke Walton at that point with two post seasons of Lebron and Luka under his belt.
