Maluach is a scary prospect. I need him to have a couple games where he just puts up 25 and 15 with 10 dunks and 5 blocks. He has the size, mobility and coordination to do that.

If we aren't selecting top 4 I'm not sure he is any more scary to take than jak or tre though. All 3 have major questions about if they can be effective NBA starters.

The raptors as a franchise just never seem to have game changing big men. I wouldn't be very mad if we rolled the dice on Maluach.

We really need to get into the top 4. Outside of that 5-15 looks like a bunch of players that could be drafted in any order. Even an earlier standout like Jak is losing ground rapidly.

Defensively he's too mobile and tall to be out of the league in 5yrs when he's 23yrs old. Moses brown is still in the NBA

Would you be comfortable taking him at 5 if his floor is Moses Brown?

His defense isn’t as impactful as his reputation on draft boards gives him credit for. He moves well for his size but isn’t a high IQ defender or a quick leaper. I’m not sure he goes ahead of Sarr or Clingon or even Ware/Missi if they were all in this draft, and last years draft was weak.

If he manages to buck the trend of historical precedence and be a big worth his draft pick I’d happily eat my words. If you go look at the last 8 years and look at bigs taken top 15 and then who went after them, you’d think it’d be a terrible idea to take one that high unless they were an AD level talent out the gate.

I agree with you, and last draft I felt like it was a great draft to get a big, because it seemed like a position of strength. On draft day I wanted raps to take missi for that reason, didn’t hate the Walter pick but preferred missi. This draft is opposite, where bigs might actually be rated higher than they should be because overall the class is weak at Center position. Also, right now there’s basically a mock draft that is 90 percent full of freshman in top 20; that probably changes near draft time. Guys like jalen Williams, Jaime joquez, etc tend to creep up closer to the draft. So a guy like Maxims raynaud, johni broome or Danny wolf, might end up way higher than we think on draft night.

Missi is a guy you can draft any time in an draft. If you want you can always sign a guy like him with the MLE. I would rather use the MLE to sign Luke Kornet than draft Missi.

I really wanted Ware but people kept questioning his motor. Just get Rasheer and you won't have to question his motor.

Yup, unless the big is top 2 worthy, just get a guy mid-late instead. Embiid dropped to 3 because of injury concerns. Teams didn't want another Greg Oden.

I would take Condon over any C drafted last year. Also I would take Rasheer over any PF drafted last draft.

That illness really whooped his butt. Still looks quite slender compared to earlier in the season.

Very happy to see him quietly returning to form.

Need to watch him at combine. Seems like he has slow feet.

You need to watch him more period if you think he has slow feet. His defensive rotations and sideways moves are really freaking good.

He's going to be a monster defensively and at worst a solid offensive option. Guys that can defend space like he does and shoot 75% from foul line are hard to find.

If you are looking for the downsize its his hands not his feet.

When Masai was spotted watching Rutgers early on in the season, I always figured this team probably has Dylan Harper #2 on their board. The only player that will stop one of Masai's most respected senior advisors, Wayne Embry, from bringing all 3 Harpers into the NBA (Ron Sr, Ron Jr, and Dylan), is if the Raptors win the #1 pick and the right to select Cooper Flagg.

Beyond the family connection to the FO, Dylan Harper has been profiling like a "Masai-type" all season long, while Ace Bailey has not.

Yeah, he sometimes overcommits on the pick and roll and can't get back, is what I've seen needs to be cleaned up defensively.

Looking at the standings. 99% chance we finish 10th in the east. Most likely will beat the hawks. Might be the heat but if we dont we will be picking 10th overall bc the 11th in the west will have more wins.

Id look in that 10 range

I think we probably draft someone like Queen in that range. It wouldn't be horrible, but I wouldn't say it's ideal. I think the top 3, Jakucionis, Johnson, VJ, Fears and Maluach would definitely be gone.

Poeltl / Queen
Barnes / Mogbo
Ingram / Agbaji
Barrett / Dick / Walter
Quickley / Shead

It's a pretty good line up with a good mix of offensive and defensive specialists.

Queen is better. Higher floor. Ready now.

making the playin. Missing the playoffs. Winning the lottery from 10 is best case for sure.

If we (likely) fall back into that range then I genuinely believe they’ll choose either him or Danny Wolf. I could actually see them LOVING Wolf especially since he still has good measurables.

This Tom Haugh dude from Florida is intriguing. 6'9'', athletic, gets to the line, 9.7 BPM in 24 MPG off the bench

There's a chance Khaman is available wherever we pick. There are a lot of big man stiff's over the years from teams drafting based on potential and athletic profile.

At 8+ we're looking at: Queen, Demin, Maluach, Fears, Newell, Sorber, Wolf, CMB, Essengue, Traore

I don't think we take either guards (Traore/Fears). I can see Masai heavily considering Maluach and Essengue.

Wolf won't be near the lottery I think defensively he's not projected well as a C.

Fears would be a very good pick because he would potentially make IQ expendable. We need a shift guard with burst. If his shot develops he could be a Maxey.
