Longer than Beal makes the difference, bigger yearly salary than DeJounte who's in consideration here for me.

I agree the additional time over Beal matters more than the NTC. Amazing that Toronto has done so poorly in constructing their team. I don't mind Quickley at that price if he ends up as a 20/7 player with good defense (seems possible) but it does feel like a lot, but then to have RJ as well is a killer. Just terrible cap management.

I think there’s a distinct possibility Paul George performs better next year if the Sixers can figure out their Embiid problem. Other than getting older, I don’t know of anything physically wrong with Podcast P. He’s overpaid regardless, but I still think he can be a good player, a better contributor than empty points Beal. I do still have him second, but that NTC Beal has is just so awful for Phoenix that it really doesn’t matter what kind of production BB provides, he won’t be traded.

Zach’s had a nice year scoring the ball, but he’s a lot like Beal, providing little else of value. And he was just dealt for… not much. Some injury issues to worry about, too. Def woulda been top ten for me without this bounce back season.

I give Beal the edge over PG because this is the first year that PG's looked really bad enough to warrant being on this list, and there's hope that he'll bounce back. That plus the NTC give Beal the edge to me despite PG's extra year.

N: Jalen Green

Inefficient volume scorer who does nothing else well, locked up for 3 more years at over $30 million per year. Obviously team context matters a lot here, but I think it's interesting that Poole is a staple in this discussion and Green never even gets mentioned, despite their numbers being very similar and Green having an extra year on his deal.

PG may well be worse value (Embiid could even be worse value as well) but IMO some teams would still have hope in a way that they don't for Beal.

Vote: PG. I did change my mind from Beal TBH. PG is just brutal at the moment and you have to wonder if this is the beginning of the end for his AS type play. If I had to bet I think it is and that's going to haunt the 76ers.

Nominate: Jalen Green. It's close in the putting up numbers but not much else category but Green takes the cake.

The NTC just makes it so much worse. Plus is his second year in PHX - if he hasn’t figured out by now, he won’t.

As much as PG and Embiid are bad, I can see a tiny chance of a bounce back. Beal, I can’t.

V: Embiid runs through 28/29 season @ 69 million. Even if he starts the season healthy, you cannot count on him.

N: Adebayo also runs through 28/29 season @ 60 million. Advanced metrics have dropped across the board. 6'9" poor 3p shooting center. I don't think that contract ages well.
