Are you saying the Heat is worse because they lost their best player???

They played against Boston, OKC, Dallas, and Bucks and lost to all of them. They won against the Raptors. They basically did what was expected of them as a .500 team.

Just shows how valuable Jimmy is and Bam really isn’t…and how Bam’s stagnation has hurt the team more than any of Butler’s shenanigans

More importantly for the Warriors, his arrival seems to have rejuvenated Curry, Moody and Podziemski. It will be interesting to see how Kuminga blends in when he returns.

They also added Wiggins.

This is misleading. Jimmy already hadn't been 'available' most of the season

Heat fans at the time thought so.
People told them Wiggins is in not I need the same stratosphere as a player.

They’re obviously title contenders now if you’ve watched them play. The rest of the world is just waking up to it.

I mean is anyone debating the warriors would get better and the heat worse with this trade? Butler didn't want to play for the heat lol.

Miami should remain about as good as they were before the trades. Wiggins and Mitchell are great fits. They are a Jovic breakout away from being right back to being a pain in the butt playoff team.

Is this a surprise? The Heat lost the driver of their offense. The Warriors gained what they haven't had in quite some time: someone to take defensive pressure off of Steph so he can do his thing.

Most people on this board who voted, voted that the Heat won that trade. Was crazy then, is still crazy now. Nearly 300 votes too.

I do not understand the rationale behind the heat winning this trade when the warriors did not give up a pick after curry's current contract ends, nor did they give up any of their young players. If they had given up Kuminga or a 2028 pick, then yea, but wiggins/schroder/2025 protected pick? Seems like a no brainer to me honestly.

Who "wins" a trade can have a lot of gray area. Without reading through that thread, my guess is a lot of the people saying MIA "won" is because they avoiding paying a declining player max money into his late 30s and got some assets/manageable money for him when he didn't want to play there and GSW gave up value for someone who wasn't going to make a major difference for them and paid him max money.

I think most of that still rings true with the huge exception that maybe Jimmy is more of a difference maker for them than realized at first. Maye he and the rest of the Warriors vets (Curry, Draymond) have more in the tank now that they're all rejuvenated.

The crazy thing is how well jimmy fits with this team. Even KD took half a season to synergise.

Jimmy instantly clicks in because he's basically a combination of Draymond and Steph.

His BBIQ, passing and defense is ELITE like Draymond. But he also commands the defensive attention similar to Steph, which frees everybody up. You can't double team Steph. You can't double team jimmy.

And the warriors didn't have to trade all their depth either. They got a team of scrappy cheap energetic players who knows how to play in the system.

Can't wait to see if the Draymond prophecy rings true or not.

Still think they are lacking the size to be true contenders but they are a lot better than they were pre-deadline
