This forum is a constant contest as to who the biggest assh*le is. I've tried to be, but there's no way I can compete.

Thibs and Atkinson are both good coaches that helped their players get to another level. But you wouldn't know Thibs was good here with all the complaining most of the time

Bickerstaff may be getting underappreciated compared to Kenny because the team had many injuries last year which held them back. Garland, Mitchell, and Mobley all played less than 58 games each. They have been much healthier so far this season.

With our thin unbalanced roster Thibs has had to try to do more with less than what Atkinson has to work with.

This obv isn‘t on one person. The roster has its flaws and evey player has too. But saying the Thibs hasn‘t been terrible is flat out insanity.

Truth and reality? :D
Lazy arguments? :D

You...

Knicks succeed..... Thibs is great
Knicks fail.... Not Thibs fault

Other team succeeds.... Had nothing to do with the coach
Other team fails..... See! That coach isn't better than Thibs!

You are the one lashing out just because you set expectations so high that you don’t know how to cope with your disappointment. Everything is the coach’s fault because we aren’t an all world team. I get it, we went from a ford focus to a mustang but felt like we hopped in a buggati so now we think it’s the drivers fault he can’t keep up with the other Buggatis

Lashing out? You just made some lazy generic response for some person you think I am. I was critical of the teams roster construction before the season started. I have been critical of the front office's asset management. I can see the flaws in the players while also seeing the flaws in the coach. I thought the front office going all in to pair Thibs with these players was a waste of time from the beginning.

I was glad that they did not extend Randle but I was still uncomfortable with paying KAT $50-60M for the next 4 years with the question marks in his game and his injury history. Part of one of my long posts after the KAT trade when many people were screaming that the Knicks were now the best team in the league...

Thibs is who he is and KAT is who he is until they show me something different. KAT struggled with Thibs defensively before and I don't think an injury prone Mitch solves that problem.

Offensively we are fantasizing about all the spacing and how much better things will look as if Thibs is some incredible offensive mind. As if the offense has not always been somebody pounding the air out of the ball with everyone else just standing around. Brunson will have a ton of space to do his thing but a 6'1-6'2 guard is not some unstoppable force no matter how much we talk crap about anyone who disagrees.

Steph had a ton of success in the league as a small guard but their championship offense led by him is the complete opposite of Thibs' offense. Maybe this is the year Thibs finally unlocks his massive playbook he has created from all the hours studying film but he has not done it up until this point no matter who he had on the roster. Maybe the new personnel changes things but I expect to see different players forced to iso no matter if they are qualified to do it no matter what. I expect to see Brunson to have a ton of success doing it while others may struggle. Thibs will have to be more creative on both ends of the court for this to succeed.

They have now built a roster with questionable depth and multiple injury prone players. Guys like Payne, Precious and (Morris) were all out of the rotation at the start of the postseason which is a pretty clear indicator that their coaches did not believe they could contribute to winning at that time. Of their top 7 players 3 of them are huge injury risks. It's an incredibly fragile team with weak depth imo.

Payne has been better than I expected. The Knicks have had a few more offensive explosions against lesser teams. Other than that things have gone the way I thought they would. Maybe Mitch comes back and solves everything. I don't know

The roster needs more depth, but why would anyone want to go into next season with the same coach? We're 27th in the league in three pointers attempted per game while being 5th in percentage, we're 6th in post up frequency while only being in the 31st percentile. These are two numbers that should be flipped, that any coach should look at and see as a problem, and one of the most glaring reasons we can't score against the other elites, we hunt post ups they hunt threes.

"Josh can't shoot threes"

Jaylen Brown is shooting 32% and taking 6 a game, there's no excuse for the low volume of threes we take.

Well according to you it wouldn't've mattered who the coach was, Brunson would've been exactly as good no matter what. So you can't praise Thibs for any development that happened under him, because coaching is irrelevant.

There are some people who can call things for what it is. Thibs is good coach but may need to make some adjustments.

There are other people that are such stans that you can figure out exactly what they're gonna say about every situation cause to them, everything is black and white. No gray area, no middle ground.

Thibs is good. I really don't want to move off him until we see what he can do with Mitch, but he's not perfect. He can manage minutes better and he can do a lot of stuff better, but the main goal for Thibs, all that he will get judged on, is if he can get this team to playoff success. He's going to get fired if he can't tell the difference. He deserves this chance but he better not eff it up.

However, to continue your analogy, some of the Thibs stans don't really see everything as black and white...their love for Thibs has gotten to a point where they see black as white, and white as black, as long as it confirms their assertion that Thibs is a great coach.

I dont see how the 4th best record in the NBA is terrible. This is what I mean by around here you wouldn't know Thibs has done anything good.

Shout out to OG who’s been getting hate around here. He held Tatum to 1-8 FG. He’s the only defender we have in the starting lineup.
