Hawks had 58 points in the paint and Miami had 38.
Off today before we take on Miami again.

Some teams just get away with more. Hawks will always fight an uphill battle.
I still remember in the Joe/Josh era in another game vs heat...Josh Smith in halftime interview said I can't believe they didn't get 1 foul call in this first half

Long, long, very long time reader... let's post, I told myself...
Good, solid defense game after being handed 148 at home by the Pistons, which are a very interesting team to watch lately.
I do not understand really what we are doing lately. Since we lost 3 in a row and lost more than won lately, after letting Hunter and Bogdanovic go, I believe we have a nice roster with the additions of Niang, LeVert, Mann and the players we already had.
It would be really nice to find a young C in the draft so I do not understand why we are trying to win as we should be aiming for a good draft position. Unless we were told by Silver to be good kids and we will be awarded a nice prize...

Welcome!
Since the trade, Hawks have 4 wins and 3 losses.
Hawks cannot tank since we do not own our draft picks - they go the Spurs for the Murray trade. So playing for draft position doesn't help us.
We need to keep developing and winning as we go.

Thx.
Completely on target. My mistake. I forgot that.
I have always been in favor of developing players and trying to win.
The thing now is that I believe we are a couple of players away from being a really solid team and, at the same time, being a team with a lot of future.
JJ+Trae+Mo+OO+Daniels+Rissacher+LeVert+Mann+Niang+Hyland+Bufkin seems like a solid group.
I believe we lack size in the form of a real big C and we need to develop Gueye and Rissacher to the extent when they can contribute every game.

Re: Game Thread: Hawks Host Heat -- 2.24.25
Quin needs to figure out who will be our primary shooters next season.
Successful teams don't have six players with double-digit shot attempts per game.
Caris LeVert has no business being a Hawk next season. He's going to cost far too much money and he's not consistent. Kenny Atkinson figured Caris out when he took over the team and Caris averged the third most shot attempts per game on the team prior to Kenny taking over. I brought this up on the GB at the time that Caris is only holding the Cavs back. The Cavs now have three players that average double digits. They can get away with that since all three are All-Star caliber talents.
Terance Mann has to play. He has three 3yrs, $48m left on his contract. He's a high energy guy that can be beneficial.
I expect most of the expiring contract players to not be here next season.
