Alright!! Everyone looking forward to 30 plus minutes of the vets padding their stats for another meaningless win to slip father and farther away from a top draft pick??? Woo Hoo, can't wait to not see Scoot, Sharpe,Deni,Camara and Clingan playing any meaningful minutes together to develop chemistry and evaluate their long term fit together!! Rip city!!!

And for the record, for the second time, i was not complaining about Rhianna. I would literally die for her.

I honestly wonder if Sharpe is mistaking "more effort" for "take bad shots outside of the offense every time you touch the ball".

It doesn't seem like he has much direction.

He's been particularly bad within the defense today. I've counted 3 times he's missed his rotation after 3 passes by the Jazz.

Please Chauncey, DO NOT pull Clingan. Let him play even though he's tired. It's good for him.

Missed the 1st half, POR barely beating a UTA team missing all 5!! of its starters is pretty laughable, but yeah sure POR is a play in worthy team, and mind you this is a game where Grant has played 38min & Simons 37min, lol. Yeah let’s build around them.

Hard to get excited about a bad team winning a meaningless game, especially with veterans playing the most minutes and taking a majority (38/98) of the shots

I hate Calabro. He is as annoying as hell, once a sonic announcer always a sonic announcer, screw him and screw the blazers for ever hiring that guy.

Does anyone else find Haberstroh and his stupid statistics annoying? It is like he is trying so hard that it comes off as desperate, and I’ve heard him on podcasts and he’s much better, but here he just comes off as annoying

Sharpe 18min, so has the organization apparently chosen Billups over Sharpe?

I know that any good GM would want a player who’s going to be an RFA playing as few minutes as possible before they have to decide whether to pay him a huge contract. Sounds completely logical

Coming for the throne, you got to take down the king. If the rookies aren't ready for prime time, they haven't earned minutes.

And yeah. Could never get into Calabro. But I could tolerate Mike Rice in a drunken uncle "ya see there? when you pass the basketball, someone else can take the shot!" kind of way.

Sharpe was a -24 tonight.

He was terrible and not very aggressive. The defense kept poking the ball out of his hands on his drives. He missed a couple of dunks.

Meanwhile Camara was a +14, Clingan +16, and Deni +19.

Coaches (that includes Billups) are trying to win. It's like Billups has said, he wishes someone would piss off Sharpe every game because all of a sudden he takes his game up a notch. Michael Jordan was famous of making up something his opponent did and took his anger out of him. Billups and Sharpe's other teammates have been pushing... begging him to be more engaged and aggressive. He just has Nic Batum's personality.

25 minutes is good enough for development. Clingan played well. It's nice to see he has more of his mobility back that he was lacking after his knee injury. Let's cross our figures he will stay healthy for the rest of the season. That means don't overplay him. Because I'm almost willing to bet we've seen the last of Ayton this season. Time Lord will continue to play sparingly and Walker will be the backup center. It's likely if Clingan stays healthy he will be starting at center for the rest of the season. 20-25 minutes will be fine.

Oh I get it, trust me. I wasn’t looking at the boxscore when Billups benched Clingan to end the game (w/about 8:30 left in the 4th), but it’s incredibly important for young players to get game reps in games/situations that matter.

Billups decided to go small, first with Grant/Deni guarding Utah’s Center and then he switched to Walker for a while.

Billups wants to win—I don’t blame him. He has his career to think about.

The plusses to this game were that Scoot had a decent game despite his 1:1 A/TO, Deni did Deni things, Camara continues to hit 3s, attack close outs and do Camara things, and Clingan did a decent job manning the paint defensively. I do wish he’d play more with Scoot.

Clingan needs to learn to rebound better—he treats rebounds in his area like rebounds that are out of his area. Right now it seems like he’s still playing like he relies on being the biggest guy on the floor. When his skill catches up with his size, he’ll be a problem. Gotta get him in A+ shape, though…
