Were they still discussing where the Sixers stand relative to the play-in tonight?

Absolutely. Positive vibes for the "play-in" of all things.

Are we playing an injured Maxey and screwing with the one franchise guy we have left?

Depressing Update from Neubeck:

Yabu suffered a corneal scratch and team said too early to tell if retina damaged too. Also injured other eye. Maxey showed Neubeck his finger and he said it genuinely looks bad and he wouldn't be surprised if Maxey is shut down.

Depressing Update from Spike Eskin:

He went thru all realistic medical options to Joel and "microfracture" was sadly one of a few viable options. Spike essentially said there is no medical surgery Joel could get that will change anything and that this is more about Joel personally desperately trying to find a doctor to tell him otherwise.

No avoiding the tank after that game, Morey.

Eskin also said rest won’t help Jo, as the inactivity actually makes the joint stiffer.

I’m fine with a Joel medical retirement honestly. He gets paid, Sixers get all his money off the cap? Win-win.

Microfracture surgery phased out with Greg Oden. Both Amare Stoudemire and Penny Hardaway had it and later said they regretted it. I highly doubt Jo goes that route. If THAT is the only option they are offering...The he's screwed. Personally say they shelf him for the season and see if time heels it. I can't believe for one second that he'd even consider it. His only option is to take time off and hope it gets better. If not, then he'll need to retire.

Cap relief via Medical Retirement

Retirement is the only option. Playing center demands constant jumping on both ends, putting enormous strain on his knees.

These Bulls had lost their last 6 games. Let that sink in.

Man I hope Yabu is ok. Had a corneal abrasion a couple years ago and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Painful as hell and could barely see. Had to hide in the dark like a vampire for a month lol.
