Biid demise came early and here we are lol. Morey pivoted to younger unknowns at the deadline and after on the market but should have been doing so since he got here...and previous regimes as well. And when you had servicable youth..he let them walk because his braindead coaches refused to play them.

Its been death by a thousand cuts for years now...

Absolutely. Another thing many of us railed against and were lectured about was the seemingly never-ending 2-year window that we had to compete, therefore every acquisition had to be win-now, and draft picks were useless because they would come to fruition after this imaginary "timeline", so they had to be dealt for more "win-now" pieces. It's amazing in a way that Maxey and McCain are even here given the madness that has gone on.

Trading a first for DeAnthony Melton is honestly my number 1 grievance i have with Morey. Health aside, he is a bad fit with Maxey and was basically a 2 year rental. We could have Nikola Jovic coming into form right now at the 3/4 and have the next gen ready to replace PG and Embiid.

Now, I think the plan needs to be turning him into two average role players and building around Maxey/2025 pick. We’re basically stuck in the same position as we were with Tobias, expect George cares even less.

Anything we get from Embiid moving forward is a bonus, but shouldn’t be relied upon.

Yeah, you and I might have been the two loudest voices here against signing George, of which I saw zero upside if the plan was competing for a title. Spreading that money out would have created a worst case scenario of having tradeable pieces in the event of a reset at the deadline or summer 2025.

What bothered me most was this being seen as the "only" option, one that was pushed and celebrated by the ignorant national media, with their star obsession. Even now, you see articles suggesting that the Sixers tank and "allow Embiid and George to get fully healthy", essentially doing 2025 all over again. Insanity defined.
Me as well. I said don't do it.

I preferred Ingram because I have seen the Sixers acquire former star over 30 years old story too often. It never works out for us

Well Ingram hasn't played 70 games in a season since his rookie year and he's currently only played 18 games this year. I don't think he would have been the answer either.

True. Still better than paying PG and dealing with his bipolar play
