pretty sure we all thought he was getting $20M + per year before we traded him and we saw that he got a very cheap deal. Masai overplayed his hand.

it happens. move on.

We traded a win-now player for a prospect, but then went full throttle treadmill the next two years anyway. Masai had no idea what he wanted to do from 2021-2024.
Didn't we trade Norm and immediately tank for Barnes..?

Yeah, and then treadmilled the next two years.

And by treadmill you mean won 48 games with the ROTY and a core of guys under the age of 27, and then ONE single season of making a win-now move (Jakob).

So by "treamilling for two years" you mean "I am upset over 1 singular move".
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

We traded one FRP for Thad, and another one (a top-10 pick) for Yak.

No, we traded down 10 slots for Thad's birds rights and cap flexability more than anything.

Thad was always trash so unless through that cap accounting we got a pick or something, it was a bad move.

Powell was 29 years old and got offered a 5 years, 90m deal.

Gary was 23 years old and signed a 3 years 54m deal.

In retrospect obviously would have been much better to keep Powell, but at the time you can't really fault management for signing a cheaper and younger player with more "potential."

I mean hindsight 2020 something something.

Unless of course you expect management to be good judges of talent.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.
