How do people here vote on injuries? Haliburton was the second coming of Steve Nash but injured himself last year by coming back too early from an injury in pursuit of the All-NBA team.

Do we assume he never gets injured and view him as a 6' 5" Steve Nash shooting 40%+ from 3?

Or do we view him how he played post-injury?

Haliburton Pre-Injury: 24/13/4 on 50/40/87 shooting splits

Haliburton Post-Injury: 17/9/4 on 46/32/84 shooting splits

MVP Hakeem was scoring 1.18 PPP. This means a 39.3% 3pt shooter would be just as efficient as peak Hakeem. You could argue Hakeem's post ups would have been more efficient vs a modern-day swing, but the argument goes both ways: A perimeter shooter would have also been more efficient vs an interior-oriented defense.

Conventional 2-big lineups provide superior rim protection at the expense of perimeter D and spacing. That said, Hakeem is one of the handful of Centers who can defend the perimeter. I guess he'd be effective in a Giannis or KG role thanks to his elite mobility and length. Not sure whether the Rockets ever used him as a free safety on D. Probably not cause the #1 priority at the time was rim protection. In any case, your defense should be fine. Spacing is another story. I think you need a legit stretch 5 to make it work. Even then, you may actually be better off with a 3+D swing.

I got KG who's fairly similar to Hakeem on defense. Still not sure whether I'll use him at PF or C. Depends on who's left on the board.

I like him.

I dont believe he is Nash level off offensive floor raiser, but I would select him before brunson if I was building a team (excluding the injury)

I find that brunson is a bigger defensive liability who is a ball hog foul hunter.

I camt stand brunson

I almost went Towns. I really thought he grew into his own last year next to a dynamic rim protector in Gobert, but I think Gobert is a bit more sort than Walton defensively and can defend in space better than Walton, which helped the defense reach such heights for Minnesota.

I also view Walton as a weird Duncan/Domantas Sabonis hybrid in the modern era, and that player really wants to run DHO/Pivot Passes which is also where Towns loves to feast. Too much overlap in their games compared to the Towns/Gobert pairing.

Unfortunately that early stretch is looking more and more like an outlier, although I agree that the All-NBA nonsense is the cause.

I generally only factor in injuries when I feel they materially affected the player in question, as I'm trying to judge how I expect they would perform in a playoff series. With Hali I still see him as a solidly All-Star level player, but it's hard for me to assume he'd replicate that amazing early 2023-24 stretch.

Can Fade make the pick for flaco now as I'm only going to be here half an hour or so.

This is always the thing, I'm 12 hours different time than EST.

The role player pool is nothing short of abysmal in this draft. Not complaining. I actually like it.

As Snake mentioned, when you enter a player's page you can check eligibility pretty fast.
