Re: The Terrence (TJ) Shannon Thread
I think something that we really like with players like NAW, Dante, and Naz is the decisiveness that they have with the ball and their decisions. This makes them good players even when their shots aren't falling. Shannon's style is really unique and I'm not sure how it translates, but I think his decisiveness especially with his explosion and first step would fit really well with those guys on this roster.
I am higher on Randle than the general consensus but more and more especially after the Dane Moore podcast... I'm interested in freeing up Randle's 30 minutes into Rob, more Dante, more Naw, more Naz, more Minott, and more Shannon. I think that Randle is the 2nd best player on the Wolves, but the ease in which the Wolves could be really flexible around Ant and play matchups without locker room issues would make us really good -- similar to how they played without KAT last year.
Though, I think unless Rob were to develop as a scorer we wouldn't have enough scoring behind Ant.

Re: The Terrence (TJ) Shannon Thread
TSJ dropped 33 on 9-14 shooting and 8 of 8 made free throws (G league free throws are 1 shot for 2 points, except in the last 2 minutes of the game, and of course excluding and 1s.) Unfortunately all 5 missed shots were 3s, and he went 0-5 from deep. TSJ also had 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 7 turnovers. It’s hard to know what to make of him without seeing him in some real NBA minutes.

Re: The Terrence (TJ) Shannon Thread
It would be great to see TSJ get some run on the main roster. Although, one thing I've noticed in his highlights is that he doesn't use/drive with his off hand very much. Always drives left and that could be an issue in the league.

If they give him a chance, it would be easier to let go of NAW at the deadline
LETS GO WOLVES!!!

Nope. Completely different player roles

Re: The Terrence (TJ) Shannon Thread
Today TJ had team worst -18, but I liked how he competed in defense: he was defending well Avdija post up and Simons drive, both missed. TJ doesn't have wingspan to defend by using length like McDaniels and NAW do, but he has enough quickness, body strength and athleticism to be at least average defender. IMO he can be DDV type of defender, who relies more on his hustle and energy

+/- is a very flawed stat. If TSJ comes in for Jaden and Jaden is the lead scorer than of course TSJ is gonna be hurt in +/-. Worse, if someone like Garza or Jingles gets toasted it counts against TSJ even if TSJ did nothing wrong. In a deep bench game like this, you really cannot trust +/- outside of the regular rotation guys minutes.

Re: The Terrence (TJ) Shannon Thread
This has been one of the most interesting question about this season: who can play in 0.5 offense? Reid is a quick decision maker (even if he is good passer he tends to make somewhat careless passes), McDaniels has improved A LOT at using his quickness and aggressiveness, Rob is a natural scorer. Today's game was awful to watch, but TJ showed some glimpses of passing that can make him a good fit in 0.5 sec offense.

That charge was challenged, the video clearly shows the charge was a block as the defender was moving, and they still wiped away TSJ’s basket (we lost by 2,) declined to give him his free throw (should have been an and 1,) and took away our ability to challenge. An ability that would have come in handy during the parade of soft fouls they called on us.

Its even more impressive when you see he actually had 6 assists.

Free Space wrote:I'm biased on this, but there is no way Shannon doesn't contribute if given consistent minutes. He is explosive offensively, a good 3 point shooter, and has the speed/size to be a very good on ball defender. Hopefully they are turning a corner and see that it makes no sense to keep him on the bench or in the G league. Last night had 11/5/6/1/1 in 20 minutes.
I wish TJ had Minott size, because MIN have Edwards, McDaniels, NAW, Clark, DDV and TJ at SG/SF position. Logjam. DDV and NAW play PG as well, but we can all agree it is not the best position for them.

Re: The Terrence (TJ) Shannon Thread
Today TJ shot was blocked at least twice. He tried to dunk it, I appreciate it, but I hope he learns how to deal with NBA rim protectors, he has touch and footwork to add a few finishes around rim.

Re: The Terrence (TJ) Shannon Thread
One question I had about TJ is whether he can play as wing. I mean provide some rim protection as help defender AND rebound. These last games have showed that he can do both: he showed some verticality, quick hands to strip the ball and willingness to fight for rebounds. Unlike Clark, who defends PoA, TJ needs to be able to contribute in these areas.

He boxes out better than anyone else on the team.

He is Shabazz Muhammad reincarnate, but with a brain. Bazz would've been fun to watch in this era!

This man won’t need to make but the most basic passes.
I didn't understand this comparison on draft night, but I think I'm starting to get it now!

TJ physicality is something MIN really need. I am really impressed how TJ got bump from Dort and was still able to finish at rim.
