Was also very confused about that. Where the hell was every(any)body?

I think the fact that Giannis was fine took the edge off. But yeah, Bobby or Thanasis would have been loud and very present.

He's being asked to initiate offense and he knows he won't play if he doesn't play efficiently. The 11-16 minutes a night he's getting is not enough to allow him to work into his old groove.

I wouldn't be surprised if Doc told him to attack and find shooters but he doesn't want to see him pull up from deep.

It's early but the limited role they've relegated him to is so short sighted.

Then this makes even less sense that he's relying on the most inefficient shot in basketball for 60-70% of his attempts. Doc drilling the 3's out of Giannis' repertoire makes sense. Drilling them out of a career 35-36% volume shooter doesn't.

I wasn't on the Trade Bobby train but i'd imagine those who were riding it were expecting another player in return instead of the void.

Yup, I respect Bobby highly and also wanted to package him with a 1st for an even more significant player. The suspension ruined that idea.

I for one am very disappointed in The Void.

How soon can we trade it?

Reading here in the most recent CBA that "it is ancient and within us always"? ****

Was really hoping it would return to The Unfathomable Depths when we dipped below the 2nd apron, but apparently The Void has a fully guaranteed contract.

I can't speak for everyone, but yeah, I was not advocating for trading him for an empty chair.

True but he's probably more confident in that shot.

Also, the way he's playing looks like he's being instructed to attack the basket. Doc isn't that smart. He probably wants him attacking and kicking to Green, GTJ or Prince.

Good point, but there were many posters who wanted to sit him or let him go.

I always thought getting a big who could rebound AND score AND play defense in exchange for BP was pie in the sky, especially for a player like BP who could opt out.

The absolute crap trade proposals that were made on here for BP, tells me that the VOID wasn't a concern.

So my working theory of why our late game offense keeps falling apart is that we're opting into a very rigid isolation plan where it's just Dame or Giannis isolating, and then either shooting or kicking to the 3pt line late in the clock. It's very 2008.

Sometimes they just make it work, but we often stop moving, don't have anyone underneath, and opposing teams aggressively trap Dame because his bailout pass is Brook standing at the top instead of Midds.

Yea, the ball movement later in the 2nd quarter helped us take the lead, only for it to regress to the mean in the 2nd half, then down the stretch it screeched to a halt.

Doc is a very star/vet-centric coach. It's both why he keeps getting jobs managing those teams, but ultimately leads to his downfall because he trusts those players too much. Then it takes him a long time to change course due to his ego.
