There isn’t one answer for this. Generally yes, but some games work differently. There’s a number of reasons you may want to do this depending on the game and person. Any additional details or context?

I'm thinking some games have different paths you can take so you can try more than one and save each one? I don't know much about RPGs.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Most games these days allow for some kind multiple save system if you want to explore different paths. Which games are you thinking of playing?

You can play many different types of characters in different games. A warrior a wizard a ranger.

Multiple saves.

Games also have decision points, will you be good or evil, steal things or not?

Unlimited saves are usually a thing in those games, because replaying content to make one choice different is tedious.... And why not let people play how they want?

Why limit the fun people can have with your game?

Generally I wouldn't do that most games aren't going to diverge that greatly.

The most utilized extra save in my lifetime is saving Elder Scrolls before I exit the sewers so when I want to start a new game I can skip the slow 30-45 minute starting sequence.

None. Maybe some day when I have a bit more time. For now I just stick to simple phone games for killing time at the airport or a waiting room.

Surfcaster Lightning Trap started slow-ish, but once I got my second ascendancy and took the cold convert it started popping off. Makes me wish I had taken it first, but nonetheless, feeling great now. Fun to play POE1 again.

Didn't have much time to play this weekend as I travelled, but going to put in a lot of hours the next week before splitting with Monster Hunter Wilds. Put down KCD2 at a clear transition point about 50 hours in, excited to get back there too. February busy af, as expected.

Capped off my weekend by finally fighting and beating Gannon in Tears of the Kingdom. I was like 115 hours in when my son was born six months after it came out then I put it down for months when I was right at the end. Definitely one of the best games I’ve ever played.

It sounds like MHW is a lot of fun to play but too easy, particularly if you're a vet of the series. A lot of the friction and tedium has been removed, which is a good thing IMO because that's what usually made me bounce. Multiplayer sounds like a blast. Crafting and upgrading is much less of a grind.

I'm sure I'll be picking it up, maybe even this week. My backlog is starting to be huge, though. I still want to finish Octopath Traveler 2, my end game build isn't there yet for Nioh 2, I've got Ninja Gaiden Black 2 and Avowed just sitting there, and I I'm probably not even at the halfway point of KCD2.

I am a little bit of a vet and I still like the sounds of it tbh. I think it sounds like a positive for generally everyone who isn't doing master rank hunts and truly experiencing the end game, and there's easily 100+ hours in a MH game before you get to that point.

ETA: Ok, it sounds a little more extreme than I assumed when I heard the criticisms. Even IGN's review says you basically don't need to craft armor sets for certain fights anymore, which is kind of what I always thought MH was about. Hmm, guess we'll see.

Yeah, sometimes it's fun to take out the entire city just to have an epic battle. Occasionally, that turns into your chosen story line. :)

Discovered through Gamepass that I am not a fan of Crash Bandicoot. I'll power my way through the first one but that will probably be enough for me.

Wow, Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be free for PS+ subscribers on March 4th. What a bomb that game was.

Was it a legitimately bad game or was this another case of all the incels "review bombing" and boycotting it? Inquisition was a flawed but still enjoyable game. If it's free I'll give this a shot.

i think flawed but enjoyable. A lot of people were turned off by the art style and the shift to full on action game.

I don't think this is a case of reviewbombing. There was some of that, but a lot of the criticism centered on the bastardization of the Dragon Age world and writing. Sunshine, rainbows, and holding your hand through a dull story (until the last 5 hours, which supposedly wraps-up well), with little to no world choice or impact, nor maturity the past games had.

Going free this soon, to PS Plus no less, is a really bad sign. Pretty confident Dragon Age is done. Bums me out.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is the only DA game I've played and I loved it. Shame to hear all the bad press this game seems to be getting for good reason.
