I think he's even better than Harden was at Arizona State. Flagg is an incredible prospect, but Peterson is the best prospect (save for Wembanyama) i've seen since Luka. The kid is legit. In almost any other year Dybantsa is consensus #1, but I think Peterson is just that special.

Peterson looks like Ray Allen, while Dybansta looks like TMac.

TMAC as a comp for Dybantsa aint bad, but I think you're selling Peterson short. He's waaaaaaay more dynamic on ball than Ray Allen was at UCONN. He's still so young, so this may end up sounding foolish, but Peterson's as close to Kobe as I've seen since.

Peterson is likely going to demonstrate all the markers of elite functional athleticism in college that were present in most greats. High level event creation (go look at his priors he's an elite stock producer), great shooting, 3 level scoring diversity, very good AST%, solid FTr.

And he has the wingspan that is needed at 6'10 I believe.

Ray was 6'5 with 6'8 wingspan, so Peterson might get slightly more deflections.

You think he’s 6’5?

nope.

6'3 barefoot. But he's shown enough this year to accept he's undersized but a plus plus athlete with enough shooting

Peterson's ast% and ftr should be higher than ray allen's. He's a more versatile scorer and much more of an offensive hub and IMO his peak USG rates will probably be higher.

They are different archetypes.

If he can measure to Donovan Mitchell size with wingspan I'd be happy because maybe he is really a combo guard anyway. If not, he might be closer to Ben Mathurin or Dipo being slightly on the small side.

I was going to say if he’s 6’5 I could see him jumping into the top 3 because of his defensive ability but if he’s an undersized shooting guard it’s a bit difference

VJ is undersized and his athleticism won't translate to oncourt production. I hope he goes before us and we don't believe his shooting is for real.

Yeah we'll have to wait for his measurements but Westbrook made it work at 6"3-6'4 ish. Spida I think is 6"2 or 6"1.

Is athletic ability already popped at the FIBA pre Olympics on an NBA open court, especially with his defense, his athletic ability will definitely pop

Yup. Basically the same people we'd be targeting at 6-7. Only the list gets bigger and we having to see who falls instead of getting the guy we want.

I think you can make a case that best available big is the most obvious choice and then it just eye of the beer holder on who you want.

Kaman
Asa
Queen
CMB
Sorber
Wolf
Fleming

If we come out of the first round of the draft with one of these guys I'll be happy. I think they all have skills and talents to have a high ceiling and baseline skills that we can use.

If we don't go big with first round pick then I want to look at

Broome
Beringer
Zikarsky
Kalkbrenner
Ivisic

Realistically I think there is a really high probability we draft one of Kaman, Asa, and Queen unless we get lucky and get top 4 pick.

Even if he’s 6’2” I’m taking him top 4 and not thinking twice

I know he’s old, but at a certain point Johni Broome can’t be ignored

CMB seems like an undersized PF. We have a lot of power forwards on our team. We need to target

Future center
POA defender starting PG
Wing defender

On a team with Scottie, Ingram and RJ, VJ can operate as a secondary ball handling PG.

I think he's the perfect PG from a defensive perspective. We'd have two disruptors defensively with him and Scottie:

VJ
RJ
BI
Barnes
Yak

Or increase the shooting and decrease the defensive size:
IQ
VJ
BI
Scottie
Yak

Bench unit exclusively
VJ
Walter
Ochai/Dick
Mogbo
?

Just need that stretch C. Can we trade next year's first and a pick swap for Maluach? Would San Antonio be down for kicking their pick a year?

Luckily CMB is also a shut down wing defender.

Is Danny Wolf even rated that high now? Wow high lottery for a guy who could end up like Luke Kornett seems a tad high. He's a three year player averaging 13 points and 3.3 turnovers a game. Where is the upside? I'd probably put Alex Condon ahead of him.

Newell is compelling and I had him early on in the cycle as a guy to watch. He still seems a bit undersized and limited on offense, but I like his energy. I just see a bit of Zeke Nagy every time I watch him and it makes me feel negative about him.

I just don't know what to think about CMB. He is deadly in college, but against NBA length will he be the same type of scorer? He doesn't have a crazy bag but he is so strong. On Toronto he would have similar spacing issues like he has in South Carolina.

Luke Kornett comp for Wolf? Wolf does so many more things. If anything he gives me Kelly vibes with a higher ceiling.
