They didn't use the deadline to try to trade for a superstar. They're punting on this season anyway, so it doesn't matter. Good time to get some reps for the younger guys while the vets are out. If the offseason sees them moving the vet contracts for stars they'll have been better off for it.

They were 2nd in the West. That’s not punting the season. lol.

I mean in terms of contending. This would matter if they got Durant or something, but now they're just fodder for contenders. They're safe of not falling out of the play-in. It's better to figure out what their youth can do with more playing time now as I assume they'll gear up for a star trade this offseason.

Their young players are playing big minutes. They know what their youth can do already.

To think they are punting the season is wild.

Great to learn that they knew what Amen Thompson could do in a role opened up to him with Fred out before it happened. Maybe they should of used those precognition abilities on not drafting a bust in Reed. No need to develop players at all. Just plop them out there when the spice transe reveals the way.

But this is my fault. I'm not sure what else I was expecting as your potential reply after an explanation. I'd say it's a lesson learned, but it's more of a lapse in judgement on my end. No one else to blame but myself here.

It's a win win situation. Either Zion proves he's of high value or they get great odds. They still have a chance at Flagg with the 5th to 7th odds.

"Still" have a chance at flagg with the 5th.

It's a difference of 3.5 percentage points with the last place team. I honestly wonder if ppl just think of this stuff purely emotionally or if they actually know how to count.

The difference in a one-time lottery event between 14% and 10.5% is not even worth talking about. They are effectively equal. I am becoming convinced that there is an emotional element in the standings for people that is independent of the actual odds.

This is fair enough. The flattening of the draft lottery odds for 1st place has made it far less compelling to go completely nuts when tanking.

Honestly the Lakers just need a great starting C and like Clarkson and I think they're up there as contenders.

So hard to guard Lebron and Luka is also unstoppable when he's locked in

is Maxey hurt? Has he been figured out by the league? What the hell is wrong with this guy?

He's single-handedly endangering our tank.

Maxey has killed us in many games without Embiid.

But there appears to be a new sheriff in town (Grimes). I remember a few years ago this board was wondering whether we would want Grimes or IQ back in a trade with the Knicks.

And .. whew! Sixers up another half-game.

Return to Toronto Raptors
