So Mitch played 31 games last year, how many were pre injury and how many were after his return? He'll have a longer ramp up to the playoffs this year. Last year I felt like he was close to full speed by playoff time, and would have kept getting stronger if Embiid didn't wrench on his foot. But last year he was always going to be iHarts backup which was a great rotation. This year I'm sure he'll come off the bench for a while but eventually, assuming everyone's healthy, there'll be an interesting decision on who starts and who sits.

Battle for 4th tonight in the league standings. We were 35-23 after 58 last season so a 3 game improvement yet we are 4th in the league. One can argue there are several teams this year that have not met expectations hence we are so high in the league standings.

There is like a zero chance Memphis would have considered trading JJJ. Imagine having a young 6'11 defender that can essentially guard all positions on the switch, protect the paint, has evolved into a solid scorer and good 3 point shooter. The dude is as untouchable as they come. You would have to offer some major young talent back to get Memphis even considering a trade.

No sane GM would trade a 25-year old 6'11 DPOY candidate that can score 22points on offense and shoot 35%+ from 3 for what is likely gonna be 5 late FRPs.

I fully expect a loss here. We beat them by 40points in the garden....they will try to get revenge tonight. I fully expect and hope the team is smart enough to sit KAT and limit Mitch's minutes. The outcome of this game does not matter---the health of KAT and Mitch going forward does, so I hope the team makes the right calls, because Thibs clearly won't.

Memphis is one of those teams the Knicks matchup well against, but I'd still take the L to rest KAT and not rush in Mitch.

100% agreed. Risking any further knee problem would be insane. I personally would sit Kat for the entire next week and take ZERO risk with his knee.
