I'd be surprised if they get anything back that's not a late day 3 pick if anything. This seems more like a last-ditch effort by Gute to get anything back for him before they inevitably release him. Hope I'm wrong and a team swoops in to skip the line and sends us something useful.

Yea I'm expecting a 5th or 6th at most. If they can even deal him. At this point I fully expect him to be released

All it takes is two teams to really want him.

I just hope he finds his way out of the division. I need a break from our enemies taking our beloved Packers.

"didn't embarrass themselves" One of the highest overall scores in the league

ReasonablySober wrote:Great to see the Packers didn't embarrass themselves on the annual NFLPA Report Card.

The Packers finish 7th overall, with the team receiving strong scores for their food/dining program along with their dietician, weight room, and training room. Last year, they upgraded the players’ meeting room and added an underground parking facility. Although these areas are not formally captured in the Report Cards, it demonstrates the team’s commitment to improve the players’ daily experience.

The most common area the players feel is in need of improvement is the locker room. While the space is sufficient, players believe it should be renovated and upgraded.

When asked what the team currently does best, players praise the team culture which is reflected in strong ratings for head coach Matt LaFleur and President/CEO Mark Murphy.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I can't imagine that even an oft-injured Jaire can't fetch significantly more than 32-year old Preston Smith, but I admittedly don't know how much of a hindrance his contract is in any of these discussions with teams.

Well, I think not embarrassing themselves is the most important thing. No one expects anything less than world class from NFL organizations. It's the really bad ones that stand out and people remember.

^^^ Jaire has supreme self-confidence, and if he got traded for a late-late pick, or gets cut and picked up on a prove it deal, he's going to have massive chip on his shoulder. How many snaps does he play in the 2025 season though - for anybody?

The worn-out cliche "the best ability is availabilty" seems to apply here too.

I mean, I'll definitely push back on the "hasn't been the same since the 2021 shoulder injury" stuff. Dude literally came back the next season and played 16-games while being voted to the AP and PFF All-Pro 2nd teams. The last two seasons have been the problem.

Yeah, he's still outstanding when he's actually healthy. He just can't stay healthy.

I like how Gute is playing this. Ask Jaire to take a pay cut but let him recover most/all of his salary in game day incentives. We need him on the field.
If he doesn’t take it trade him for a 5th or 6th, better than cutting him.

I think cornerback is getting miss valued around the league.
The last closest comparison to Jaire is Marshon Lattimore. And he went for a 3rd, 4th and 6th round picks in exchange for a 5th back.
Both have had injury issues, close in age, similar length of contract at possible trade time, both really good when available.

The fact that they've leaked that they're shopping him tells me he's gone one way or another. It's the thing you do as a last resort before cutting a guy.

There has been smoke around DK to the Packers. I'm guessing we're offering Doubs and a pick.

I could see Doubs being in the deal, even with his concussion history. If he doesn't have another one, he might well play for several very productive years.

From the Packers side, isn't this coming year when they need to decide who's getting extended in the WR group? You trade for DK, and that locks up a spot.

Trading one of Watson or Doubs before they need a new deal makes sense. DK is 27 and has put up great numbers with Geno Smith as his QB in less than stellar offensive schemes. I'd probably go ahead and trade a day 2 pick with Watson or Doubs to land him.

There's no way Gute is paying this price so they'll either find a compromise or these talks will be over pretty quickly.

Yea, no chance I'd give up our 1st and Doubs/Wicks
