Via Chris Haynes:

Sources: Weeks ago Suns coach Mike Budenholzer called a meeting with Devin Booker imploring he tone it down vocally, leaving the star shocked. Inside that meeting which provides context to Booker’s postgame remarks on communicating.

Wonder what city Booker would prefer -- Houston or Detroit?

Just waiting for the "Devin Booker has asked the Suns for a trade" tweet from Shams

I think this latest info is more about Budenholzer possible being fired after this season.

Yea my thing here is, could we simply be dealing with a player problem at this stage? 3 coaches not getting along with our players... I feel a clean slate is probably going to be our only way out of all this. Get our picks back and a young player or two. Ride out Beals contract and figure things out in a couple years. Ishbia is willing to spend which is good. Just need the right program in place behind his money

Ishbia might not want to admit it - but he does have an out. He can say, "well we tried to build a winner. money was no object. it didn't work. this is our new path"

Fire Bud
Trade KD and Booker
Hire a GM like Myers or a respected GM - I still don't see Ishbia going to "unknown Asst GM route"
and Ishbia is going to have to suck it up and be patient

Bud has been a disaster. He was about to get fired before Bucks won so spare me this championship coach BS. Monty was COY too, Jones EOY, that should tell you enough. Clean the house from top to bottom. New respected GM, young energetic coach, build for the future around someone who's not paid as superstar, but is far from being one.

What about firing Budenholzer NOW?

Fizdale has experience as a HC.

Not that fast, only 4 wins behind 10th spot.

It'll be a bad look and not solve anything. Wait for summer with clear view on direction. Emotional decisions have led to current state.

Haynes is almost always wrong there's that.

But what we saw and see on court with Booker showing frustration with team mates on camera suggest he also berates adults behind the scenes like children and that's how you lose it.

It's OK to speak loud or even yell, but always blame the situation or process and never isolate a player and humiliate them in front of others. That is HR 101, respect people regardless if you disagree with them or unhappy with them in a workplace. Leaders will always say "we could have done better" "we need to make each other accountable, tell me if I'm making a mistake and we will do the same to each other", "we need to put more effort", "we need to get over the hump and figure it out"

The "we", because a team will work well if each member hold each accountable and share blame.

Bud was never the answer but Ishbia doing Ishbia things... We need a clean slate. The very day the season ends we should start making decisions and pulling the trigger asap.

I'd think Detroit clearly considering that he's from there and his family is there too.

But would Detroit give up significant value for him considering how well they're doing with their current roster?

Sam Cooper is so right about this situation! Sure Bud is a big part of our problems, but so is our dysfunctional roster, our lack of assets and cap space, our lack of youth, physicality, and athleticism. We also have a very weak culture and no rental fortitude. Now I can see thee Suns/ Ishbia scapegoating our situation on Bud, to try and rationalize not trading KD and string to run it back again as an out rather than taking accountability and blowing it up!

But that would only prolong our situation because firing the coach alone isn't going to fix our core issues. We simply have far too many critical issues, including our culture to not tear it down completely and rebuild from the foundation! The longer we deny this reality, the worse our future outlook will be!
