If they are switching JB off DM there is no way you haven’t thought of something else by now! EVERY GAME IS THE SAME WAY!! JB on his behind in the first half, keep him away and cook after that!! Craig may be poop but damn, TRY IT!! He has been a his defender in his NBA life!!! How hard would it be for him to learn, “hey, they do switch you onto DM when JB is on him. Literally all they have done in every game that JB played! Hell put Tatum up there, make them have to beat one of the jays, not Hauser every time down!! Cesus Jhrist!!!

You are so clearly right with everything you said but made me LOL when you said Joe make an adjustment. This where I can insert "Joe is letting them figure it out"??

The big lesson: we could definitely lose a series to Cleveland if they're fully healthy and we're missing two starters.

Meh, I think we'll be fine

Hauser a team high +18. Who should have Joe used more instead? Peterson? Doubt he would have defended better than Hauser. Pritchard? Team worst -36. Kornet? Team second worst -26. All others don’t afford Boston the offensive spacing Hauser provides while on court.

Single game plus/minus is a less than useless stat. In fact, here it's absolutely misleading.

Craig would have been my first choice. Then probably Walsh.

Hauser got eaten alive. You have to do something.

This kind of thing happened last year too and many lost their heads about it, but Joe handled things very differently when the playoffs came and I expect him to do the same this year.

Yeah I'm thinking you probably don't want to show a rival team your best stuff in the last meeting before the playoffs anyway. Joe took a pretty hands-off approach tonight but I think he meant to.

Yea, I noticed that and commented on the game thread:
I wish we had one more athletic wing. Sam is great but Craig and Peterson and Scheierman are just C- versions of an NBA wing. Not a problem with a healthy Jrue … but tonight, it’s an issue

But it seems like Walsh should be that guy but Walsh opportunities seem to be dwindling as we get closer to the playoffs

Sure single game plus minus isn’t gospel but can give some hints. The thing is though, the available information from the game was that Craig had been worse than Hauser, so is it really a poor decision by Joe not to go back to him? FWIW I wouldn’t have been against using him more but it would have been a risk.

I like Walsh and have wanted to Joe to give him more minutes. But…he hasn’t been good in offense for a long time. Still…I think we should persist prior to playoffs.

Injured. Foul trouble for Brown. Excessive minutes for our -30 bench guys.

Tatum 5 FTA on 25 2pa to Mitchell's 11 on 13.

Celtics have a massive margin for error and Cleveland barely won.

Pissed for a bit and infuriating loss. Totally. But it there's nothing to be concerned about.

Cleveland won't push us to 7. And another win tonight would shut the basketball world up about them

Craig is a risk for sure. And Walsh is a lottery ticket (and not a good one). But anything would have been better than Sam tonight.

I don't really care about this game but JB and JT were working so **** hard tonight it would have been nice if Joe could have shown up for them.

The entire team, including Coach Joe, let the Jays down today. Can't blame the Jays for this loss. They didn't get enough help.

Is it possible that the Celtics can gag the second seed? I know KP was out because he wasn’t feeling well but this guy you can’t depend on him. Anything can happen with him.

This game turned around as soon as Kornet sleepwalked his way into the game....Seriously, what happened to the tough version of him?....Complete softie tonight.

Did people forget Brown came out early with a 4th foul? The game unraveled when we had to play extra minutes to the -30 bench guys.

Tatum also got no whistles.

There's nothing to be concerned about.

I think people on this board don’t give the cavs enough credit and still don’t. Celtics woild still have to go on the road and win some games against the Cavs if they meet. Cavs have handled everyone in the nba this year and some games impressively. Yes the Celtics are a bad matchup but they will have home court. Something about this celtics team rubs me the wrong way. Flat, lazy, etc.

All I’m saying is that there seems to be an assumption that because Joe didn’t make a decision to swap out Hauser for another guy that he isn’t proactive or making a decision. Sometimes a decision to stick with a guy and trust them to turn it around, especially when there isn’t an obvious better one is the best decision. It doesn’t mean Joe didn’t show up. We didn’t win this one but I’m not convinced it’s because Hauser wasn’t replaced more.

The worst part, Pritchard was so hesitant, he had plenty of opportunities to take the same 5 mile out shots. He didn’t get inside either. Gotta shoot it because your D isn’t why you play.

Obviously one game win or lose in the regular season means nothing. And obviously again Boston with a totally healthy roster, they should be able to beat anyone. But I just get worried if a game or series is close Joe may end up blowing it..

Not a good game from him, but he has been out for personal reasons. Hope everything is ok at home.

Just a random thought: Healthy Rob Williams would be a nice player to throw at Evan Mobley, if that universe with Rob healthy annd on the C’s actually existed.
