Prime AK was a 1 of 1, though. Flagg will be a very good defender.

I would move Melo for a ton of picks regardless. The rebuild just becomes easier with Flagg, but there are many nice prospects this year. Try and land another top 3 pick next year then build from there with Miller + 2025 pick + 2026 pick + several future picks from the Melo trade.

Why would anyone give up a "ton of picks" for Melo? With his contract and injury issues they might have to give up a pick to move him.

There are a lot of bad contracts that people would attach a pick to trade for LaMelo. If Charlotte lands #1, trade LaMelo, Mark Williams, Bridges (to county jail) and just start over with bad contracts, good picks and a solid forward rotation.

Agree. Different circumstances, but I don't see why Melo wouldn't fetch a similar package to what the Kings got for Fox.

He's more injury prone, but you have 4 years to think about his third contract.

Fox has 1 years at 34M left on his contract. Fox has played in 54 games this year & missed 4.

Ball has 4 years at 166M left on his contract. Melo has played in 36 games this year & missed 21.

Who is going to want to give up draft capital for Ball to be a #2 or #3 at 41.5M per year & have him miss significant time, while possibly not playing winning basketball?

Fun comparison. I like it! People forget how good Chambers was (4x all star who peaked at 27 ppg). I think Chambers is more polished offensively and Flagg has greater defensive instincts.

Chambers was more polished offensively my foot. As a frosh in a mid major conference Chambers averaged 6.4 pts and shot 63% of ft's. He also never averaged 1 ast per game his entire 4-yr college career. Peaked at 3 in the pros. Flagg is averaging over 4 asts as a college frosh who's actually a hs senior. He thinks the game a step ahead. He has superior offensive orchestration & at least as good of touch if not better (superior trajectory certainly). Chambers was a big athlete who was semi-skilled.

Well...defense doesn't really matter with the rules in todays NBA.

He reminds me so much of Jimmy. Same player, except bigger and with a better 3 point shot.

PG has a bad rap now, but he was great with the pacers. It’s weird that PG is a diss, but AK47 is a compliment.

AK47 left it all on the court. Fierce competitor.

PG doesn't seem to give a ****.
