I don't understand why the Yankees didn't realize that they would have saved a lot more money had they not given a guy on the wrong side of 30 a 6 year contract.

It’s cause they refused to pay the superstars in their prime and then got caught off guard when DJLM put up an MVP season. When you’re Hal and Cashman, being cheap somehow becomes expensive

I watch when I can. Baseball is the signal of winter ending. I am a huge fan of that! :lol:

Being an Islanders/Knicks/Jets fan made the winter months so miserable for so long that I cannot wait for spring training most years.

Had a few good years recently with the Islanders that ended in conference finals losses. Now we suck again. The Jets are the worst franchise in NY history. The Knicks have made the winters easier on the soul recently but, the last two decades before that were awful. 40-50 YEARS of no titles or finals appearances except for 94/99 by the Knicks and 4 AFCCG losses for the Jets. The Yankees were winning the world series and dominating the sport more often than not in that time span. Outside of the 80s the Yankees carried me through decades of losing by those other teams. I had the Islanders then. In the meantime I have witnessed about a dozen WS and 7 WS wins with the Yankees.

I still watch spring training but, I don't actively search for when the games are on. As much as I hate the new ownership/GM approach, this franchise carried me for decades as the best in the business. I enjoy them whenever possible. Not many sports teams can boast the amount of winning the Yankees has done since the 70s.

Not caring in spring training is good training for not caring during the regular season.

The kids have been playing great this spring so far. George Lombard might be our next SS in 2 years. I think spencer Jones will be ready for the show by next season. Pereira is playing well and should get some time in the show with Stanton out. Rice put on some muscle and Wells has been raking. Will Warren is dominating so far. Yankees have no choice now but to play the kids since they won't pay up to get real MLB players, we just gotta hope some of them pans out.

I'm confident the Yanks will sign some washed up vets to block their progress

Cole undergoing tests on his throwing elbow. The training and medical staffs seriously needs to be studied and taught to others of how not to operate.
