This was obvious if anyone watched the last game. I dont even know why he played. In any case, speedy recovery Ayo.

Yep. Him playing was in indictment on our medical staff.

Sucks for Ayo. Helps the tank. More burn for DT.

Obviously legitimate and good call. Of course, my threshold for shutting down good players the rest of year is somewhere between a hangnail and cramping.

This really sucks. For Ayo personally and because now trading him this summer will not be as helpful probably.

Good...that was terrible the team allowed him to play he couldn't even move his arm. And especially ridiculous given our situation.
He'll have a lot of time to recover & get back into form.

He played 23 minutes against TOR and was so noticeably “hobbled” in that shoulder you had Stacey pleading for the coaching staff to “save him from himself”. Not a fan of the decision to give him that much burn.

I agree. Probably made no difference with this injury, but was a bad look.

Presumably Ayo will be set to start next season and make a full recovery. Bummer that he will likely miss some of his off-season with this news.

I've been saying that Ayo has been terrible of late. I can now rationalize that it was injury driven.

Better now than later. Get well soon!

Also good in the sense that we have more minutes to give new guys to show what they can do. I'm most interested in Huerter. Also, want Terry to sink or swim.

Now? Really? Now?! You couldnt do this before 76ers and Raptors game. This franchise is ridiculous.

Wish him all the best and full recovery.

Do we think he injured it after he came back to the point where he needed surgery or he was going to try playing through an injury that would have otherwise needed surgery after the season?

It’s insane he was brought back to play on this injury (even if much less severe than when it needed this surgery). This FO is absurd.

AKME still believe we have enough for a championship run.

Terry already died, sank, floated to the surface, and is bloated, foul smelling, and being snacked on by turtles.

Bad for Ayo but i don't think it alters his prospects for a new contract here. The Bulls know what he can do.

Plays into the Bulls end of season strategy. Ball has been able to play more minutes, Giddey is playing very well, Coby is mostly healthy, Huerter is regaining his shooting touch and Tre Jones looks like an NBA PG.

The change going forward is Phillips and when he comes back Williams, can play more at the 3 and 4 and Giddey slides back to be more of a guard. THT, Carter and Terry ride the bench and look for travel brochures for their new city.

You are ok lol

The sad part is this rebuild is a rinse and repeat situation.

I have lost complete faith.

Ayo’s season was pretty disappointing. All in all, a slight regression from last year. At the same time, my expectations were never too high. Solid all-around role-player, who didn’t shoot as well this year (let alone improve). The drag is he finished below league-average. For a team with no Lebron or Luka, the Gabe Vincents and Terrance Manns are irrelevant.

Yeah, I like Ayo a lot just because he plays smart and hard and isn't bad at anything, but IMO he's not really good at anything either and considering his injury and contract status, I now see him as just a guy. Considering we have Ball and Terry and Carter already under contract for next season, I don't see a critical role for him. I'd be very willing to trade him, though I doubt he'd return much. Maybe we could use him to move Patrick's contract or something.

I’ll add , so far these guys have all exhibited patterns of Y3-4 plateaus, regressions and/or injuries:

Lauri
Hutchison
Wendell
Coby
Patrick
Marko
Ayo
Terry
Phillips

Wtf man? That’s 100% of our draft picks who lasted atleast 3 seasons, in case you couldn’t do the math. I did the Bulls a favor by not including Valentine and Zipser. Niko and Snell too.

Can we bank on Matas becoming worse and more injured next year?

Yikes, maybe we should generically project all young players to improve every year.
