Ware had stayed on we win
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

This is what happens when you don't have a real superstar on offense.

Let's also stop pretending this game was only loss due to the offense.

Our defense was piss poor bad in the 2nd half. Thats a collective unit.

Who is the 2nd guy? Wiggins? Or do you mean Bam?

My bad. 3 guys. I completely forgot about Wiggins being on the team lol. We have 3 guys which none of them are elite at it.

We have 0 guys who can create their own shot

Just dudes who can score in the flow state of the 1st-3rd QTR of NBA regular SZN basketball

You really can’t appreciate it if you didn’t see Miami play Boston in person last year in the playoffs. They had a hard time even getting through past the 3pt line when defended.

I get it. Our top scorers are more so complimentary guys. I just don't understand why our fans can't accept that we're just not a good team anymore. It happens. Hopefully we're better again sooner than later.

Fans who have watched this team since the 90s expect a certain level of toughness and disposition that clearly isn’t here anymore and that level of grit was why we became diehards in the first place.

I don’t care if we aren’t good, that’s not this teams issue. It straight up is a lack of heart. Just getting out toughed and beat to the ball by everybody. Pack this thing in, let’s start getting rid of some guys.

Agree, but is this something that's ever happened?

Maybe Game 6 of 2020 ECF?

One of them, whether it's him or Tyler, needs to step up and take the role of Batman on this team. Right now, it feels like both just want to play Robin.

I think they're not consistent enough to do it and they probably know it. Herro has the a Batman mindset without the utility belt. Bam on the other hand is still deciding if he wants to be Batman full time or Bruce Wayne full time.

Well I think if anything this proved what I've been saying for awhile, which is that Bam makes a choice to not shoot the ball. It doesn't have anything to do with the offense. Almost all of those plays down the stretch started with the ball in Bam's hands and he set the screen and gave it up instead of taking his man off the dribble like he had the plays before. Even after hitting two ridiculously tough J's back to back. It's almost like he thinks he shouldn't press his luck after he sees some go down :banghead:

On the other hand you have Tyler. It's kinda crazy that he and Herro are the exact opposite. Tyler will keep shooting no matter what. In fact, in this game he lost all **** composure when he kept missing shots he knows he can normally make and just kept chucking. Imo, I put this one on him above anyone else, with Spo second. You can't keep taking the wind out of the team like that.

It's frustrating because he has all the tools and potential to be a top 10 superstar, but he just can't put it together consistently. It doesn’t help when Herro is chucking shots tonight, though. I really wish UD was still on the bench; I bet he’d be in Bam's ear all game, saying, "Just demand the damn ball, killah!"

Need fresh Wiggins tomorrow. Hopefully his ankle is not that serious. We remain in the 7th seed with Orlando losing to Raps tonight. East is so bad for the tank brigade lol

I hate to break it to you but times change. Do you think the Pistons still play the way they did back then? The Knicks, Spurs, Pacers, Jazz? Teams change as does the NBA.

All this finger pointing at Herro but he gave us a four point lead with less than a minute left. We lost because we couldn’t secure defensive rebound after Brunson missed a three. We get that rebound and then Knicks have to start fouling.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

Bam is no Jordan/Kobe....his entire career fans have wanted him to show fire...he is not that guy. Every year we get the talk from Bam...and things stay the same.....

His mentality is his mentality

Don't fault the guy for what he is wired to be, just enjoy what he does at a really high level.

Bam is a unicorn, he is a 4 or 5 that will chase smalls around on defense at a really high level. I think that is the sole reason the team has pushed deep into the playoffs with that many Herro/Robinson mins logged over the last 5 years.

He does not have a Jordan/ Kobe skill set, so him not trying to be a Jordan/kobe is actually a good thing...

I think. if we can get an offseason of Bam/Ware/Mitchell/Wiggins working on their defensive meshing, the defense is going to be lights out.

I think the future is hella bright

On a side note it does feel like the team is getting better. Knicks are a tough tough team and top 3 in the East so can’t really sweat this one too bad especially after stealing one against the Pacers. Need to take care of business tomorrow. Hopefully Ware’s good to go and nothing pops up from tonight’s Robinson incident.

His ceiling is a 3rd option. He hasn't shown enough yet over season to think he can be all nba guy. Same with Herro. But Bam's floor is so high that even when his offense is struggling he can impact games. But I wouldn't count on either being a no 1 or 2 option presently.

Can’t wait to be the 7th seed win the play in game and then watch Bam and Herro pass the ball around the 3pt line before attempting a horrific shot with 2 seconds left on the shot clock ending in a 5 second possession for the Celtics where some random white dude with no bag that I’ve never heard of drains a 3 wide open at the elbow extended in transition.

This is why I think we have the defensive pieces here to see a Trae Young type prosper but his offense is so ugly sometimes as well. His playmaking is elite but his efficiency is dog ****.

Holy ****. I just watched the replay of the missed defensive rebound. What the hell was Bam doing? He was moving away from the rim on purpose instead of going for rebound. Wtf

Spo has been doing this for the past few games too. Phasing out Ware and letting Bam play center in the closing minutes.

But I agree, he could've been a big defensive presence, and those offensive rebounds by the Knicks might have been avoided.

Return to Miami Heat
