Only caught the 2nd half. But not liking the Iso-centric BB, especially down the stretch. Not sure If Denver missing A Gordon is greater than Boston missing Jrue + KP. Denver isn't deep and A Gordon is their do everything Glue player. Did Notice Queta in 17 minutes grabbing 10 rebounds while Kornet at 7'2 in 31 minutes grabbed 1?? :o Is that a typo by ESPN??

D White back to being "clutch" when it matters. Posters beat up on PP and Hauser last game and insinuated that they are not good playoff bench players. I feel that they are against 98% of teams. The one exception may be Cleveland. Their lightning quick backcourt + Bigs + great coaching makes it hard for PP + Hauser. But most teams I feel they will hold up strong.

And I agree that Tatum and Brown do look tired.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

good day to get a win and they did it.
Derrick and Al clear votes for me today, and Queta would've been 3rd.
Want to give Jaylen credit for some good scoring in the paint and some good passes.

Only other thing that I’ve got is AoS for Craig after he quit with 1.8 seconds left in the half, didn’t grab a rebound of the missed Ft right in front of him nor try to play D on a three quarter shot that then hit the rim.

This was a very good game. Horford shut it down on Jokic about as well as you can, he produced buckets and more on offense! This is about time for playoff Al anyway, he sets to ramping things up!

White had some huge buckets, just cold blooded as they come! He takes souls, because I know I’d be mad if a guy receives caca for an open pass and/or late clock and he still makes it! I see those videos, he prepares for anything. I wonder why other people don’t do it, a few of the other bombers do.

Jays were giving it away like they were my ex spades partners! Calm it down and focus. I wasn’t focused on Tatum this game, it lets me know he wasn’t involved or wasn’t trying to be. I thought he made better decisions on doubles in the first half than second. JB was pretty good, but missed shots in the 4th, had good moments on D in the second half. I thought his D at times was very good, then he showed some moments of slow to react on D.

Pritch and Queta came through for the bench! Both had excellent moments and both had good games. The bench has taken us over the top a lot, We gotta let go of the poor ones more.

The +/- isn’t accurate, Korny had a solid game. He was whipping that thang.

Good win!! We needed to stop at two, time for another winning streak!! Round this thing into form, no matter who’s playing! Get well kp and jrue, we don’t want to be hospital Celtics when it counts the most!

Health will be the key this season.

I think we will end up playing nine in our PO rotation:

Tatum, Brown, White (top tier players who should play close to 40mpg)
KP, Jrue (good starters who should play at least 30mpg who are somewhat matchup dependent)
Al, Kornet, Pritchard, Hauser (bench guys whose minutes s/b dictated by matchups).

I like our chances assuming Jrue and KP can get their health together. If we're forced to play our bench guys starter minutes, I don't like our chances because the game turns into too much ISO ball with the Jays taking turns, and teams targeting guys like Pritchard and Hauser.

Bit of a mixed bag but any win against a top 5 is a good game. In a game where neither was shooting all that well they limited shot attempts, racked up assists and got to the line.

Nice win.

VC to White and Queta. They were our best players in the 4th quarter, when it counted the most.
Al was a close 3rd for me. He played really well like White and Queta.

In a game were we were trying to avoid not losing 3 straight games for the first time all season, where was Tatum? Choking. That's where. 4-15 shooting, terrible in the 4th quarter. 6 TOs.

I will continue to say we are as good as White and Jrue take us. Get well soon Jrue. I will also continue to say I don't trust Brown and Tatum in the 4th quarters of most close games. They either brick shots or turn the ball over.

Better coaching job by Joe, but still needs improving. He didn't overplay Hauser. I would have liked to seen a little more of Queta and a little less of Kornet. I get Queta had 3 fouls in the 1st half, but I would have still rolled with him. Kornet has 4 foot open looks and passes the ball to guys 24 feet away from the basket.

Kornet played 30 minutes and had only 1 rebound. Queta played 16 minutes and had 10 rebounds.

No argument. But the numbers suggest a different defensive focus than Cleveland used.

Down two starters, tougher performances from the two stars….still controlled the game against a top 5 team

Great win. Big Al was awesome he gets the VC. White with a puff too

Well, they played better. Mainly shot the ball better.
But they still played bad defense (PP mostly) on Murray and Braun
It is not their fault I guess, but our coach will not change the defensive scheme, so they need to be better

Last season Jokic scored 30+ against the Cs in all their games and the Nuggets won the season series 2-0.

In this game, Jokic only scored 20.

The defensive scheme will not change, but there will be variations.

Cs in the top 5 in off. rating and def. rating is very good.

As everyone has said, good win down 2 starters, but I still found parts of it a bit distressing.

Our unwillingness to run genuine offensive sets every time down the court is pretty infuriating. I appreciate it can't/won't happen on every possession, but we get into this funk in way too many games where we devolve into ISO basketball and making contested jumpers / 3's that aren't sustainable in the long-run. Especially when we've got lineups out there that are mostly bench players and one of our stars.

Why don't we run more action for White/ Hauser/ PP specifically? Pin down screens / hammer action to get our 40% shooters open looks as the first option in the half-court. They don't have to automatically fire away either, get the defense moving and keep the ball moving to find the 2nd or 3rd shot in the sequence. Get significantly more movement out there and let guys relocate to spots on the floor where defenses are more likely to lose them in the mix than standing stock still waiting for a kick-out.

I'm fine with Tatum/Brown pick and rolls as a primary function, but at least get into them immediately. They're waiting until half the shot clock has run down before they start the action and if it doesn't work they're left with no time to have a 2nd attempt at creating something. Start it early, move the ball if it doesn't work, relocate and the ball will either find it's way back to you for the same shot you would have taken anyway or ideally find someone else with a better look.

It just feels lazy. Which I know is rich coming from a guy on their couch but it's a fundamental principle of basketball that movement on offense creates opportunities. Focus gets paid too much on the stars, other guys get lost or caught up in the chop and can't stay with their man. Defenders are more likely to foul when they're chasing as well. Start the action earlier, keep the movement constant and it'll inevitably yield results. I appreciate it's easier said than done and there's an element of consideration towards not gassing out which creates its own problems, but it feels like there is just SO much of this ISO play or sets where Tatum in particular is just waiting at the logo for the ball to come back to him as we run a half-hearted action on the wing, that there is no excuse to not see more of an alternative even if it can't be literally every possession.

It's incredibly evident when we've go Tatum/Brown out there with 3-4 bench guys, but it's also the very same problem we run into with the starters when things get tough and the monkey that's been on our back for years (my turn/your turn ISO) starts rearing its head again. And this is on Joe to do something about (and I love Joe for the record). Even on nights when we don't have guys we can't devolve into ISO heavy basketball because it creates the bad habits we fall back on when times get tough in games that do matter.

/end rant
