Is there any way we can keep Grimes and Yabusele?

They have Grimes Bird rights and he's restricted fa; and the deadline moves have them access to most of the full mle for Yabu. So I it seems likely.

But depending on what they give them both could hardcap them

Yeah. To clarify the last sentence, you are hard capped at the first apron if you use the full MLE instead of the tax MLE.

^Thanks guys. Grimes deserves a good look. I see some John Starks in his game. He could give us what we've been missing since Melton left.

It's a business. Championships make money, if you are not competing you need to work out how to still make a profit.

i dont think trading an injury prone caleb martin, KJ martin (who is not good) and washed reggie jackson for young talent is a bad move at all

It's not bad, but Sixers have used the trade period to save money, not get better. Ownership had decided they are cooked, can't win so save money. They would know better than us how bad Embiids knees are and how gone PG is, this trade period just said it out loud.

Quentin Grimes looks really good out there. Rebounding and assist numbers have been pleasantly surprising, as well.

One game and everyone getting all excited? I would trade him as bait to dump Embiid for AR15 and Knecht, if possible. We need some white guys who can shoot on this roster.

Luka lopping to Joel would be scary Lol

I don't think Jo has caught a lob in his life. And he has no interest in doing so, either.

Agreed, Grimes should be back. But for now, he needs to be hurt. Can't be messing up the tank like that.

So, this is what Knicks fans were all hype about years ago.

If I were a Mavs fan, I’d be livid. What a horrible trade for them.

Most people don't have a clue how good you need to be to have a place in a NBA rotation as an under 6'6 player.

There is a lot of guys that given the minutes and green light can have great scoring nights.

Don't worry Nurse will run him into the ground just fine.

I will say this for the Sixers though. I'm not sure how much he'll cost, but most teams out there will only have the MLE. But at his age some of the bottom dwelling teams with space might come for him as well. Due to his age I think he has to be a higher priority than yabu, who is a win now player.

I say this because it could take the Sixers into the second apron for this POS team, though they could do that with the intention of trading away talent during the season to get under it again.

I believe only BKN has cap space? Based on that I'd be surprised if Grimes gets over the full NTMLE, and for that price we should match.

And if that means losing Yabu, so be it. You're right we aren't winning anything while he's here.

Although ideally we get something in a sign and trade, but even that would be difficult while staying under the 1st Apron.
