Thoughts on trading #6 to Charlotte for Tidjane Salaun?

Salaun was the 6th pick in last year's class and won't even turn 20 until August.

His stats have been terrible this year so there's no way he still holds #6 overall value. With a late 1st I'd consider it.

I like Danny Wolf the best on the list. He's got the plus positional 3PA rate that you're looking for at .322. Where he really shines is his passing ability with his ridiculous 4.5 assists per 36. He's the type of guy that will really elevate your offense and make guys around him better. Shooters like Grimes and McCain will feast playing with him.

1.I always believe it’s better to do nothing than settle for a lateral move.
2.The 6th pick holds more paper value.
3.A more talented player could fall to the 6th pick.
4.Salaun has one less year on his rookie contract.
5.You’ve already seen a year’s worth of evidence confirming every concern you had about drafting Salaun—now you’re taking on that risk while giving them an easy way out.

I think there's going to be exponential imrpovement from Saluan next year. He's already a better rebounder and passer than he projected to be. Obviously his shooting numbers are bad right now, but him being willing and fearless to let it sling is way more important at this point of his career.

Need shooters with size that can't be exploited defensively in a playoff series. That's where Saluan outclasses all the guys projected at #6.

If he can distribute like a lead guard he’s the guy at #3. The shooting and scoring is there and he has good positional size at 6’6” with a 6’10” wingspan.

One of the most elite parts of Kobe's game was his footwork. Derik has insane footwork. His BBIQ is one of the top in this class. I can't see a scenario where he doesn't end up being a good to great player.

Don’t overthink it—just draft one of Cooper, Dylan, Edgecombe, Tre, Kasparas, or Bailey.

If it’s Bailey, develop him like the Warriors did with Kuminga—on the side, with patience. He could also become a valuable trade asset when the right opportunity comes.

Harper and Bailey getting throttled tonight by 29 points by Purdue is really pathetic. It's hard to take them seriously as prospects when they can't even get up for a game like that.

They’re the type of prospects who prioritize their draft stock over winning. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’re bad players.

But im really bearish on Bailey though.
