It's obvious that the Kings like the Bulls' players...with this trade, they fix some of the most glaring flaws in my opinion.. Get a big PG who is good on defense and a big who can play alongside Domantas if the situation calls for it and not be overused due to lack of size

I’m sure the Kings value Carter quite a bit (as do I) considering they were willing to draft him in the lottery knowing he was going to miss the 1st half of the season with a shoulder surgery.

He’s definitely still getting into game shape and getting familiar with the NBA game, his teammates, the Kings sets, etc. (it’s not easy coming in mid season as a rookie without a training camp).

However, he has played 5 games in the g league thus far and below are his per 36 min stats thus far…

Now we have to take these stats with a grain of salt since it’s the g league. However, he’s doing what you want your rookie to do by tearing it up down there.

It makes no sense. The Bulls give up Lonzo Ball who is on an incredibly cheap contract and he's playing great, and they get younger with Carter who has barely played as a rookie. What you ignore is the Bulls see Ball as a genuine leader of their own rebuilding effort Carter would take 3-4 years to bring that. Not to mention the Bulls still have 8 guards on the active roster, 3 of which are expiring contracts plus Dosunmu injured and expiring.If they intend to trade any of them they may get more guards back who end up ahead of Carter.

But in the same deal they are giving up Jalen Smith who is playing very well even in limited minutes behind Vucevic for an older Drew Eubanks. Vucevic and Zach Clolins like Eubanks are expiring so they're looking at ending next season with no centers under contract. Brown is not even getting 10 minutes a game he's a complete unknown.

The Bulls are certainly worse off the court with this trade (much like the recent Lavine and Caruso trades) in exchange for a better future outlook whether it be in assets, flexibility or draft capital...isn't that what rebuilding teams do?In my opinion, it should be one of the 4 worst records next year...and they seem too honest to lose on purpose...
