This is a flat out incorrect assessment.

His game is not predicted on athleticism or explosiveness. Guys that start declining in their late 20s or early 30s are insanely athletic guys who never developed a high-level skillset to sustain their elite play like Amare, Rose, Baron Davis, Kemp, Griffin, Westbrook etc.

Similar to guys like Jokic, Nash, Bird, Magic, Kidd, Paul, Stockton etc. Doncic is a very high IQ player, his vision is exceptional, he is extremely skilled and is a 3 level scorer that has exceptional touch and can score from multiple angles, his post-up game is elite now, and he's enormously strong, routinely bullying guys in the paint. Despite not being a high jumper, he's a great rebounder because he knows where to be and has the strength to box out.

Doncic, if anything, is a pretty similar player to Harden, but he's taller, stronger, and more physical than Harden with a mid-range and post-up game that translates very well in the playoffs. At 35 years old, Harden, despite having conditioning issues himself, is still an all-star player.

Doncic will be dominant will into his 30s.

Moreover, his conditioning, while an issue, is something that can be corrected...you can't correct a guy with insane athleticism who gets older and starts to lose that fast-twitch muscle fiber advantage.

Correct. Wishful thinking by that Celtics hater.

There is nothing in Doncic game that relies on athleticism. It's all smarts, skill and IQ with a bit of underrated strength.

I think the question is does he wants to say in the NBA that long. But I don't expect his game to decline due to age like others. Also a reason why I think Jokic could dominate to his mid to late 30's if he wanted to.

Loved watching him. Max on the Lakers was already one of, if not the best young 3nD guy in the league. Most important two way roleplayer and his consistency since his slump was something else. Those numbers were on top of taking the toughest matchup every night. Always available, rarely injured or fatigued. Lakers won 5 straight after he broke back into the starting 5.

So underrated how people imply Knecht instead of Max would have made the trade any less of a fleece. If anything that's the only thing the Mavs got right in that whole debacle.

People that don't watch the Lakers just had no idea who Max was. Max is worth an FRP more than Knecht.

There’s gonna be a lot of crow eaten here. Don’t think the Mavs lost as much as people think. Also, they aren’t going anywhere as long as LeBron is there. And based on how the media is talking about how Luka ‘can extend LeBrons career’, he’s gonna not going anywhere. He’s not retiring until he gets another ring - even if Luka has to push his wheelchair. They better hope they can get another player that’s willing to join the circus.

Lakers got AD because of the Klutch Sports connection - no one else signed up to play with him. Not even Luka…

Dafuq this really happened?

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

You're scared that he will bring a dynasty to the Lakers.

Ah yes, who would want to join the biggest team in the league that has one of the best players of all time and a 25 year old in his prime? No real upside there for anyone to join.

Just like that, the Mavs championship window has already closed within a month of making the trade. Nico failed to secure any draft picks or young prospects for a 25 year old superstar. Kyrie will be out this season and all of next season.

This is already one of the worst trades of all time

It was worst, not one of the worst, but worst trade of all time the moment Shams tweeted it.

Max Christie linsanity run seems to be over also.

Last 5 games…

32%FG/ 31% 3PT

7 points per game.

Worst trade of all time. An absolute fleeced.

Man, I'm a spurs fan, I freaking hate everything about those spoiled lakers, and still I wish they would win a ring, just to put in the FACE of that clown mavs gm...

I feel for you, mavs fans, truly. This entire sequence is an abomination.

Max is a talented player. hes going to be a fan favorite for the Mavs, but yeah hes not a star player. Hes a solid rotation guy who can shoot and defend. thats still very valuable. If the Lakers could re-do the trade and include Knecht instead of Max, I probably would prefer that... not that I can complain about this trade in any way.

Only if you ignore the fact the Mavs have been Cursed with an historical level/unlucky run of injuries that has seen most of their starters out for the rest of the season

:o LeBron is 0-7 in game winning/tying FGs in the finals. And is 20/116 or 17% in game winning/tying FGs in the 4th/OT for his career. That's historically bad :o

But even if Davis was healthy, the Mavs traded away the reason Mavs fans watch, like trading away a prime Derrick Rose when we were diehards. It made no sense even in a universe where it would be advantageous.

Would you trade away the Godfather series for the Bourne series if you knew your family was a big fan of the Godfather series? Hell no. And I haven’t even watched the GF movies.
