Good shooter, and seems ok under the basket. The concern is probably going to be his lateral movement and ability to stay in front of guys on the perimeter. It's hard to tell from the limited footage, but he looks better going north-south, than east-west

I'm curious if Cs are getting this guy at a discount because half of the internet thinks he's 6'7" and he's really 6'10"
Also curious about his lateral movement -- how fluid are those hips?

what did Brad know and when did he know it? :reporter:
mixing sports (for Pats draft fans) maybe Will Campbell's missing wingspan inches were added to Miles Norris' height! :wizard:

It’s funny how when we thought he was 6’7” I was sure he was Matt Barnes’ love child but now that he turns out to be 6’10” I’m Homer Simpson fading into the bushes on that comp

I'm telling you, it looks exactly like we just signed the #1 overall pick of the **** 2024 draft out of the G league:

Gary Washburn:

Boston made a minor roster move Sunday, releasing former second-round pick Anton Watson from his two-way contract and signing G League veteran Miles Norris, who played with the Memphis Hustle. According to a team source, it’s not that the Celtics were particularly enthralled with Norris, who is 24, but they were ready to give him a long look.

He has 82 g league games under his belt. Increasing his 3pt output was an obvious expectation for him and he met that by going from 5 3PA's to 9 3PA's. I would think defense will be his next expectation. A cheap audition and probably means Drew stays with the big club for the remainder of the season. He has 22 out of 50 games left to play in Boston and there's 21 games left in the season. IMO, he'll sign a deal the same time in April as Neems did.

‪Bobby Manning‬ ‪

Miles Norris’ #Celtics contract is a 2yr, 2way deal, so he’s under contract for 2025-26 as well, I’m told.

Also, for those wondering about his measurements, 6-7 1/2, 6/9 w/ shoes, 7-1 wingspan.

Poor Miles, even if he blows up during what's left of the season, he can't participate in the Playoffs.

imagine how much would have had to go wrong for the Celtics to want to play Miles Norris in this year's playoffs

IDK about the G league schedule and playoffs though -- hopefully he's able to participate in that, assuming Maine qualifies?

I like it.

I know he's a 24 yr old guy who played like 5 yrs of college ball in a mid major conference, went undrafted, has no NBA experience, is just on a 2-way so he's a long shot to contribute for us.

But I really like what I'm seeing in these clips. Very self aware, knows his role, keeps saying "winning" "it's all about the TEAM", do whatever I can to help the team win. And also keeps saying how he can shoot, stretch the floor.

He's saying all the right things. Seems very humble, easy going. Yet confident at the same time - confident in his shooting ability and seems confident that he belongs here.

And genuinely just seems like a good dude who is chasing his dream to play in the NBA. He (like so many guys) work so hard over a lot of years, grinding, hustle, trying to get better and stronger to try and make it in the league.

He's just trying to chase that dream. This signing gets him closer to it. He seems to be taking it in stride. Not get too far ahead of himself but believing in himself that he can do it.

I wish him luck.

And selfishly, I hop it works out because there's potential (not this season but possibly next season) for a guy like him with size and shooting ability, some athleticism and some ability to drive closeouts - if he works out, there's potential for him to possibly contribute for us next season..he could *maybe* end up being a pretty valuable depth piece for us next year.

Interested to see how it works out.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Miles Norris on choosing #44 for the Celtics: “Danny Ainge is the reason I’m wearing #44. And I will be the reason no one else will.”

Already like him more than Walsh and don't know a single thing about him.

Return to Boston Celtics
