Their wide open shots were rimming out in the first half. The law of averages caught up with us

OG had a FT to tie it, missed, and they scored 8 straight including a Curry 3 — Knicks scoreless from 6:33 to 2:29 and by that time the game was over

Put in Mitch at 3:49 and game never got close

its the regular season....lets say even if we don't have enough depth right now...a regular season win isn't more important than getting the good players on this roster through the season and into the playoffs.

You want to play these guys 40 in the playoffs...thats one thing.

Our spot in playoffs is pretty much a lock...there is no need to play him this many minutes in a regular season game.

We got rid of 2 unused players, then picked up 3 new players who will not be used. Plus Shamet is still on the roster. We just reacquired a 7'2'" player who just put up 22pts/20rbs in Westchester (after putting up 30/10 on the Mavs) and we don't have him or Marjon on our bench with KAT missing and Hart completely out of it. WhoBoy!

Should have added a 6'8 bench wing instead of Shamet in the summer

Kind of ironic that we are comfortable saying the playoffs are a lock now that we have a 40-21 record and trying to win all these games that don’t matter. Had we actually followed that games don’t matter approach we wouldn’t be sitting so comfy right now. There’s still work to be done and this team still has a ton of improving left to do. Not just for this season but for the future. This is not a team built for a deep playoff run this year but these games do matter for the core group of guys not just for this year but for the future as well.

Last week when people were asking why Hart was in the game in the 4th over Deuce you said Thibs couldn't play him Deuce 18 straight minutes. You can't be on both sides of the minutes argument in favor Thibs :D

One scenario has nothing to do with the other. That game Hart was in foul trouble and him sitting had nothing to do with minutes distribution. He was going to get back in the game at some point. Deuce already played 18 straight minutes and then like halfway into the 4th Thibs felt comfortable enough to put Hart back in. Tonight you wanted to just bench OG and waive the white flag when we still had a chance to win the game. It was close until the last few minutes. The only similarity is that we tried to win both games. I don’t have an issue with that, some feel otherwise.

The KFTV guys brought up a good point about Thibs offense late in games. If you got it going, he's going to give you your chance in ISO at the top of the key, even if you're not a go to guy. That backfires sometimes b/c some guys just aren't built for that. They can have big nights but it's in the flow of the offense. Thibs did that last night with OG. He also did it for a few plays in the 4th qtr of game 1 vs MIA for RJ who had it going that day. It's just not their games.

We have arguably the best crunch time player in the NBA. Let captain clutch do his thing.
