I can't believe LeBron gets to play with Luka. He's been suited for the #2 role since 2021 but AD just wasn't that dude. Luka falls into LA's lap and he's at worst the #2 shot creator (shooting+passing) in the league. LeBron just gets to pick and choose his spots now and even more so when Reaves is playing.

DFS, Vando and Lebron giving a f** are huge in that. And after seeing years of DLo and Westbrook I appreciate Luka as a defender as well. People call him a bad defender, but not sure they saw our guard rotations in the past years. Luka is actually way better than any of the above mentioned guys...

Luka being decent on defense has been a huge bonus for the Lakers. Another thing that has gone under the radar is how good Vincent has been defensively over the last month—he has been contesting well, stopping actions, rotating really well, everything, which show when you look at the best defensive lineups the Lakers have including Gabe. As good as Reaves has been this year, it might work out best for the Lakers if he comes off the bench.

They have a bit of a catch 22 when Reaves and Rui are available. The defense is much better with DFS and Gabe starting but their inconsistent shooting may be a problem down the line-- they were a combined 2/13 last night from beyond the arc. Defense takes a hit with Reaves and Rui but putting two on the ball against Luka is a death sentence for any defense with the kind of looks he'll generate for them.

but im sure Adam Silver believes me, which is why he is throwing anything at the wall to recapture viewers to his failing/dying league

he altered the game because of greed, loosened the defensive resistance to cater to the european players/3 point specialist.. see adam silvers interview with Kevin Garnett. Which has had a negative impact on the game for longtime viewers, and has star players scared to play defense now because every little bump is a blocking foul on the defensive player. Adam had a short sighted vision of thinking making euros like giannis, embiid, jokic, and luka the face of the nba would bring in more viewers worldwide. And then he doubled down by making Lebron the face of the NBA. So now we have a corrupt league with crooked refs and no defense in a league were the salaries are at an all-time high, and now you are talking about shortening the season and changing the game to 10 minute quarters. Not to mention you are allowing an active player to collude using his agent err i mean co-founder in rich paul to get players to the lakers, even going as far as using nike plants/klutch sports plants in prominent positions on teams across the nba to FORCE nba players to play with LeBrom, who has shown to make players WORSE

every single idea that adam has added to the game has been terrible, yes even the play-in tournament, in-season tournament, team lebron vs team giannis. The league is just awful right now, the bronny spectacle is an embarrsment to players of yester year like john starks, rafer alston or even mike james back with the rockets.. who had to bust their behinds to make it to the nba. I could keep naming reasons like Lukas lakers debut vs the mavs grossly underperforming at less than 2 million viewers lol. Adam silver is a reactionary commishner which is why the nba is where its at now.

In terms of the Luka-Lebron chemistry, it's already quite good. I think they are most effective giving Luka the ball and letting Lebron play off of him. Lebron has become a really good catch and shoot guy since last season and also a pretty good cutter and elite transition finisher. Luka also playing pretty good D from what I saw from him.

Since Luka came over which is 10 games now, the Lakers are 11th in ORtg and 3rd in DRtg league wide. The offense honestly isn't impressive. The defense is extremely impressive. Going forward as they build even better chemistry, I expect the offense to improve but I do expect the defense to regress a bit towards the mean. Their opponent shooting luck has been quite good. Teams have been shooting horribly from 3pt land against the Lakers.

Says not having the GOAT debate anymore. If he settles on no one dominated as long as LeBron, and no one dominated as beautifully as Jordan, I can't really argue with that. Different flavors of GOATness, take your pick.
