Re: Celtics 2024-25, Season Thread
Jordan Walsh was one of only 6 players in NBA history to win a title before turning 21. I don't think anyone's won a 2nd title before turning 22. Walsh will try to do just that in June. Also, there is no "try."

Re: Celtics 2024-25, Season Thread
I don't know why but I really thought we had more room in the standings between ourselves and the Knicks. I guess I've always just been checking where we are in terms of chasing HCA vs. CLE & OKC that I've ignored the rest.
I'm really hoping we continue this hot stretch up until our final west coast road trip of the season and pull away a bit so that we can start managing minutes with an eye towards being totally fresh for the start of the playoffs. There's only a handful of tough match-ups between now and the end of the season but if we can avoid trap games we should be able to throttle down a little early.

Sam seemed to be fed those things to say to the media
Unless they show an actual x-ray or mri, I'm calling bs on Jrue's injury and chalking it up to playing him off and on to keep him fresh for when the real season starts

This season we play better away than at home
Maybe 3rd place isn't bad

Re: Celtics 2024-25, Season Thread
Boston being 45-18 while resting so many key players on a near-nightly basis is honestly wild. Some might call it an excuse for not having more wins, but it’s genuinely impressive. I'd love the top seed, but what matters more to me is player health, and I really appreciate Mazzulla’s efforts to get everyone there.

Lakers and Nuggets creeping up in the standings w/ 21 & 22 losses vs our 18. I'd like to keep HCA against them for the Finals. Seems like we should, but I care about that more than the Knicks (also at 22 losses), tbh.

Re: Celtics 2024-25, Season Thread
There have been 23 five-man lineups that have played at least 400 possessions together.
The Celtics starting lineup with Horford + JT/JB/DW/JH are 1st in net rating, outscoring opponents by +20.5 pts per 100 possessions.
The Cs starters w/ KP is 16th in net rating at -1.4. It’s already March. We’re just going on hope that those five could turn it on come playoff time.

White, PP, and Tatum are among 8 players who have made 200 3-pointers so far this season. No other team has more than one who's done it.

Per my shoddy research, only two other trios have done it in NBA history -- Curry/Klay/Poole in 2023 and Harden/Gordon/Anderson in 2017. No trio has had 250 3PMs each in a single season. White/PP/JT could theoretically be the first.
In 2011-12, no player reached 200 made threes. Last season, it was at 23.

Re: Celtics 2024-25, Season Thread
Season can be divided into 3 segments so far:
10/22/2024 - 12/06/2024: 19-4; 60.0% TS%; 2nd in ORtg, 4th in TS%; 56.4% 3PTA rate
12/07/2024 - 01/27/2025: 13-11; 57.2% TS%; 8th in ORtg, 17th in TS%; 50.9% 3PTA rate
01/28/2025 - 03/08/2025: 14-3; 60.7% TS%; 4th in ORth, 6th in TS; 52.0% 3PTA rate
We've never gone below 50% 3-pt attempt rate for a prolonged stretch. Won more and offensive rating ranking was at its highest when 3PTA rate was at its peak.

I think we’re good now. If we go a pedestrian 12-6, they gotta lose only 2 games the rest of the way to even tie us at 58-24.

Doesn't really matter.
As long as it's not something about the bone, cartilage, or tendon, he'll be fine.

Good job typing out the tweet…
This board is becoming overrun with empty posts saying only “read on Twitter” … so thanks
I have heard Brad mention the name Remy Cofield a couple of time but it’s never come out in the press what prospects Cofield discovered or advocated for selection… I follow Celtics transactions very closely and I have zero opinion as to whether Cofield was good or not at his job.
