Well that is probably why he turned heel. Cena hasn't won a singles match in WWE since Royal Rumble 2018 which is crazy. He had to make a deal with the devil to get his 17th championship win.

I was actually looking forward to an honest 1 v 1 with no shenanigans, since the previous Wrestlemania was full of interferences/shenanigans.

Watching Tales from the Territories is bringing me back to when I was a fan. Late 70s and the 80s was my era of wrestling. By the mid 90s I was barely paying attention. I watched some of the Stone Cold era and the Rock but, hardly watched at all. I have no clue what the shows are like now just that the gimmicks look crazy.

Watching the Freebirds vs the Von Erichs is awesome.

Cena is going to win. He just turned heel and wwe will want to capitalize on this storyline for the remainder of the year. I doubt he turned heel just to lose at WM. It would be hard to build on his heel turn. But I do think he turns back to babyface and squares off vs The Final Boss in his final match.

For me it was WCCW out of Texas. NWA which was Mid Atlantic. I recall the AWA being from Minnesota. That was mid west. Of course the WWF as well. I was into the wrestling magazines and would catch videos from everywhere. Pacific Northwest. Georgia...there were a few regional promotions back then.

From 79-89 were the years I followed mainly.

No. A friend of mine was spoiled by his mom. He used to get videos of different regions back then. Outside of the 4 regions I mentioned you usually had to read about the rest. Or scour the UHF channels with a good antenna to pick up channels like WCCW on channel 61. Like I said, a lot of wrestlers bounced around the regions. AWA and NWA were always changing wrestlers and they would all fight in WCCW from what I remember. I believe what you are talking about was AWA circuit basically.

Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin. The Fabulous Freebirds. Ric Flair. Gino Hernandez. Brian Adias. The Rock and Roll Express. Ivan and Nikita Koloff. The Road Warriors. Tully Blanchard. Paul Orndorf. Magnum TA. etc etc. They all bounced around the AWA/NWA/WCCW circuits. Once they landed in the WWF it was a different world. As if the rest of the circuits didn't exist. Ole and Arn Andersen were AWA stars. Curt Hennig/aka Mr Perfect was AWA. Ricky Steamboat bounced around. The Dingo Warrior. Abdullah the Butcher. Jake the Snake Roberts. Ravishing Rick Rude. Dr Death Steve Williams. Kevin Sullivan. Ted DiBiase. Dusty Rhodes. Sgt Slaughter. The Bushwhackers. George the Animal Steele. Tony Atlas. Rocky Johnson. Randy Savage. These guys all bounced around back then. The Undertaker had several names.

Then WWF pushed things into the spotlight and took on all the other regions and killed it all.
