Kyrie to LA???
Kyrie’s injury is sooo unfortunate… But, could be timely for helping him reunite with Lebron and Luka in LA for one last run with Bron. Kyries player option for next year could be a point of contention this summer on a fair extension for him, possibly leading to the Mavs considering moving him.
Any ideas of packages to get Ky to the Lakers this off-season? What would be a fair return to the Mavs? Maybe a multi-team trade that works for all sides?

Re: Kyrie to LA???
The Lakers don’t have anything to offer outside of Luka and LeBron that Dallas would be remotely interested in trading Kyrie for.

Injury tough. He could be out for a year at his age.

Re: Kyrie to LA???
I mean Kyrie to the Lakers makes sense with the Lebron connection, but with Luka, Lebron, and Reaves I would guess the Lakers feel like they have enough offense creation. And with Lebron a year older and Luka always a guy who misses games, not sure trading for a guy who won't be ready to start the season would be desired.
Maybe its something to look at at the deadline particularly if opted into his option, but I think that ship sailed with the Luka deal honestly.
And from the Dallas end, well they have no ability to trade for anyone remotely Kyrie's caliber so they probably just cross their fingers on his health.
But a deal could be pretty easily structured and would be built around Reaves I'd guess.

Perkins said on ESPN that tore his acl and was back in under a year. I think KY will play again by Christmas.
I'd be worried that Riley might try and do some back channel stuff and clear cap room. Trade Herro to get off of Duncan's deal to BRK (80+ in space) for some picks. Then they can sign KY and trade their own picks and/or those picks, Rozier, Ware and filler to us for Durant.
KY
Wiggs
Jaquez
KD
Bam
Still have Jovic and whatever randoms they can turn into a good player off the bench. Not an easy move, but doable. Spo coaching that team is a great last all in by Riles.
This is assuming that KY would opt out this summer.

Re: Kyrie to LA???
ACLs dont take a full year to recover anymore with modern medicine; if all goes well he could be back by December/New Years. But i agree, he might be overkill at this point with Lebron and Luka, while the Lakers still need a big or two.

Huh?
He will be back by the start of the season. ACL takes 6 months to fully recover.

so many internet doctors here who haven't examined the patient but know exactly how surgery will go and how long recovery will take....
Even funnier when an actual medical doctor who specializes in this area would never give a recovery time for a patient they haven't seen.

Re: Kyrie to LA???
On the topic.
Yes, IMO if Kyrie asks to be traded to LAL - LAL easily has the assets. Either Reaves or the 2031 first would probably do right?
Dalton wouldn’t be enough for me. Not when you push on Rui, Vincent, Maxi, etc salary.
But still an easy trade to make, if Kyrie does want to be in LAL and LAL wants to take the risk of trading for an injured older player.
I think Kyrie likely gets kept in Dallas and wants to stay in Dallas due to the injury, and now the deal looks more like 4yr170 versus closer to 200?

Even if healthy, why would the Lakers trade for Kyrie given they have three creators already? Yeah, hard no.

I suspect the Nets aren't going to be in a hurry to give away their cap space (they essentially have the market concerned this summer), let alone send out picks for the privilege.

Re: Kyrie to LA???
I think the way kyrie can end up on lakers is afyer next season. He and lebron got po upcoming season. If both play that out and share whatever lakrrs can give to resign for 26-27 season. No reason for lakers to punt next season by trading for kai if he might not be able to play

Not to mention that historically, at least during his Nets tenure, Kyrie was never willing to rush back from any injury. In fact, he refused to take cortisone injections for fear of longer term ramifications. Of course the flip side to everything is that he'll be a FA in '26 & will need to provide some proof that he's fully recovered ahead of FA.

Re: Kyrie to LA???
Orlando should make a play for KI in my opinion..
although could this have legs? Or are the Lakers/Mavs trades over for a while after all the hype..?? Reaves/DFS/Knecht/Vincent for KI..?
The Mavs cover the guard position, they would have assets to consolidate a star like KD/DDR/Lavine/Markkanen/Turner/Jrue and maintain good depth...
even rambling...I heard the main reason for trading Luka (I guess this is nonsense) was to see how physically he was outclassed by J.Brown in the finals) if Boston fails this year.... Lively/PJ/Christie+FRP Lakers29 to BOSTON
Maxi/Powell+incentive to the NETS..
j.Brown to MAVS..
Reaves/Brown/DFS/AD/Gafford
Vincent/Klay/Knecht/Martín/Marshall...
Would Boston take this offer seriously?

Yeah, Orlando has the salaries to make an offer for KI and has the talent to stay competitive until he is healthy.
I really like them being aggressive this summer despite having a lost season this year. The trio of kids are great.
And Dallas can’t really demand a big asset for Kyrie given he’s an injured expiring or a sign and trade.
