Re: The Washington Commanders Thread
After Deebo came back from pneumonia last year he wasn't the same player. I am hopeful, especially since Adam Peters should know him better than most people.

Judging by production over time, I predict he'll be as successful as Stephon Diggs and DJ Moore.gambitx777 wrote:He ran a 4.3 and he showed out at the combine. Felton, even in round one, would have been a wiser investment.
Felton is nowhere close to being a first rounder.

He might be legit. This is a weird wr draft no ture stars but a lot of studs and a lot of depth in the middle.Chocolate City Jordanaire wrote:Judging by production over time, I predict he'll be as successful as Stephon Diggs and DJ Moore.gambitx777 wrote:He ran a 4.3 and he showed out at the combine. Re: The Washington Commanders Thread
Teams to watch for Johnathan Allen.
Raiders.
The have 10 picks 3 in the 200's two of which are 6th round compensatory picks and a 7th. Those three picks for Allen would be a solid trade.
The chargers.
They have 11 packs picks and could bolster that d line some more. They have 4 picks in the 200s one being 6th compensatory and a 7th compensatory and Clevelands 7th. Those three picks for Allen would be solid.
The bills
They have 10 plus picks and 2 late 6ths. They might be willing to give us those two picks in the 200s for a very needed boost to the DL.
Lions
While their defence is solid they might look to add some more depth and they have 3 7Th rounders.
49er
While they didn't make the dbo deal including Allen they have a need and 12 picks including three 7ths. They could revisit this after some cap shananagans and get Allen to the 49ers for those late picks.
The colts
Have all of their picks and could use a boost to the d line a 6th and a 7th would be dope.
That's the return I'm hoping for 2-3 sub 200 picks. That might even be wishful thinking but we can hope.

Re: The Washington Commanders Thread
Peters knows Deebo, so does Lynn. I have more confidence in that aspect. Samuels also had pneumonia last year and that could have played a role. Plus, I'm not really sure why the Niners had him in this hybrid gadget/running back role. If you wanted him to have a short career, that would be a way to do it. I still think we need another receiver, but Jayden's got another option now besides Terry.

Re: The Washington Commanders Thread
They wanted a guy that can catch those receiver screens and get yac, and Deebo is one of the best receivers in the nfl at that. He’s also a really good blocker in the run and pass game. He can be great in this offense.

Yeah I wasn't dying to trade for Deebo but how do you get mad about a 5th round pick in an allegedly top heavy draft? He's in a contract year with a lot to prove and the cap hit isn't as bad as it sounds. As Wiz fans, we sometimes struggle with this, but imagine if it works out. He seems fired up and he's in a contract year.

The older guys that the Commanders have signed last offseason have worked out as well
Ertz - played 17 games had 654 yards and 7 TDs, easily his best season since 2019.
Ekeler - Significantly better than last season in terms of yards per rush (4.8 per carry in 2024 vs 3.5 per carry) - did suffer concussions that lead to a lower total, but was a key contributor especially in the postseason win against Tampa
Bobby Wagner - Rated the #3 linebacker according to PFF last season. Obviously could be inflated a bit but nonetheless a great signing last season.

Re: The Washington Commanders Thread
Christian Kirk got cut by the Jags. Kliff coached him in Arizona and is reportedly a fan. My guess is he signs here, making our WR room:
1. McLaurin
2. Samuel
3. Kirk
4. McCaffery
I'd bring back Oz and draft another receiver in the draft for depth but that's what I would go with.

I'm not trading any more picks for players unless its for Garrett. As good as this team was last year, realistically they still need another 2 drafts to round out the depth.

Baun is staying with the Eagles. At this point, give me Sweat, one of Reed/Ward/Murphy, Greenlaw or Nick Bolton.

Re: The Washington Commanders Thread
Bengals granting Hendrickson the opportunity to seek a trade. So here's how I see it, I would rather sign Josh Sweat, or have a 1-2 year stopgap of Mack or Reddick than to trade presumably a first rounder AND pay Hendrickson. I'm sorta leaning the same way with Garrett but he's a generational player so you have to think about it. Hendrickson is about to be 31, Garrett will be 30 in December I believe. Sweat's turning 28 this offseason, presumably you still have 4-5 years of productivity.
