Haven't seen him yet, but could be ash from Ash Wednesday. Or could be a shiner administered by the priest putting ash on Ash Wednesday.

He’ll casually explain it for a really absurd reason like his trainer smashed his head into the wall to physically prepare his brain for the physicality of the playoffs
