The one thing about the Sessions comp is that both seem to "skate" in terms of their locomotion as the esteemed Mr. McGlocklin was fond of highlighting.
Razor Ramon was a damn turnstile on defense and did not have the scoring chops. Did not stop him from inspiring 7 full threads in the midst of his free agency. We (Chonestown HQ) stan an innernet legend! Salute!

Agree I see him replacing the option year with a new 1+1 deal, with a player option again for injury protection. Then the Bucks get his Early Bird rights, giving him a chance to get paid.

KPJ is clearly well-liked by the team (aside from AJax). Not only does he look like he's having fun, the rest of the team does too. But after Towelgate, I can only wonder... is Giannis having too much fun?ShootingtheJ wrote:RiotPunch wrote:KPJ seems to be having the time of his life. In case anyone was wondering on the post 2-8 start stuff…55 win pace, 7th in net rating right in between the Knicks/Rockets, top 10 on both ends.

We had so many of these in the pre-Jrue Bud years.

It would be 11 at half, Bud would make one adjustment and it would be 30 at the end of the third.

Really happy to see Dame stroking it and Porter getting one step closer to forcing Doc’s hand on that starting spot.

Not a chance we keep him unless he's willing to take a pay cut to stay with the team that gave him a chance. With him, GTJ, Bobby, Sims, Brook it's going to be real tough.
Also, this is wild:
I read somewhere he has another year yet on his deal

With Brook being our only slow currently and Pat firmly on bench... our lineup is Doc proof.. for now. But yeah, keep being creative in adding more KPJ

We all knew Dallas was in a tough spot but giving up a season high and losing by 30 to a team on a SEGABABA. Woof.

The chemistry KPJ has built with several players in such a short amount of time is kinda crazy. He knows exactly where to deliver the mail for each player.chonestown wrote:KPJ has such a feel for the game that it's frustrating when he makes a lazy out-of-bounds pass or something similarly wayward. The dimes he had tonight were largely simple plays expertly delivered. Real good sign to see him fit in amongst his max-level teammates.
Have to assume they'll see the Cavs in the semis. Sunday's game will be a good peek. Perfect time to put KPJ on Mitchell and Garland and see what it looks like.

Re: PG Mavs - Bucks Take Care of Business
So, earlier in the year, we were rumored to be interested in Cam Thomas. I thought that was stupid. Why would a team that employs Dame and Khris want another scorer who cant defend? But when you combine the intel that Horst was trying to trade Khris since November, it all makes sense. Cam would have been a good fit in post-Middleton Milwaukee. But i think KPJ may ultimately be a better fit and at a fraction of the cost. A fraction that one could not compute because you cannot divide by zero...sorry Marjon.
Porter will probably be a streaky shooter and he is likely headed for some regression. Fine. But he also has a multitude of other skills that will always be readily available and still allow him to impact the game. If he played baseball they would call him a 5 tool player. Not every tool is the best that money can buy, but they are all there on the belt.
This is the perfect team for him and the perfect environment for him to thrive. I think he sees that now but im praying he doesn't forget that in the off-season when his agent starts whispering about other opponent.

I would say top priority is to find a true SG next to Dame and a replacement for Brook.

Giannis being the 6th youngest to reach 20k is **** insane when you consider he averaged only 6.8 and 12.7 PPG his first two seasons.

Re: PG Mavs - Bucks Take Care of Business
Porter will definitely have some wtf games. Probably a lot of them. If he can keep playing defense and not spiral, he'll keep being playable though. He's young enough that if he's willing and smart enough, he could still get significantly better.
The new guys have all been great additions. The team was stagnant, old, and slow. They've brought excitement and giveadamn back even if they don't always make the right play.
I haven't really enjoyed watching the team for years and didn't believe they had any chance at winning another title. If things fall into place, I'm feeling a little glimmer of hope.
