A lot of anti-tankers are happy with the current state of Raptors. Defending the way the FO is conducting tank job: wins are justified by our 2024 rookies gaining in developmentdTox wrote:ATLTimekeeper wrote:Tha Cynic wrote:
You're starting to sound like Scase at this point lol. Every post is like some doom and gloom post or some attack against management (typically Masai).
What's the issue now - they're not trying hard enough to tank when they clearly pulled players to try to hand Orlando the game? Something tells me management is fine with our young players beating a supposed playoff team with their two best players playing.
As a fan watching the game, I had a lot of fun. I'm sure a lot of others did too. Sometimes we forget that this is all about entertainment.
Nah, you're just not good at reading. I've been anti-tank on this and think that we need management to clear out.
It's not good when both pro tank and anti tank crowd are unhappy, it means they haven't been doing a good job of either over the past 4 years. Time's running short for Masai

The tank crowd is never happy so I dunno what to tell you. We could win the number 1 pick and when they find out cooper flag is not LeBron they’ll want to tank next year too and rinse and repeat. Even if Cooper is LeBron then they’ll be upset we didn’t tank and add a “running mate” on the same “timeline”.
I mean it’s pretty obvious you shouldn’t cater to people who will never be happy with anything.
And I’m glad the front office doesn’t make decisions because people on real gm have nothing better to do than complain that the world is upside down because the front office didn’t do what they want.

Do you believe they have been doing a good job over the past 5 years? If so, what results can you point to that can measure that success?
I believe they have done an excellent job since being forced to pick a direction. Started off bad when they signed Dennis but everything they have done since OG I 100% support and am looking forward to next year.
The only things I disagree with from the championship up until OG got traded is choosing not to fix the center gap for so long and then finally filling the gap when it was clear we should turn to building around Barnes. I think the value given up for Jak was fair just the timing wasn’t right if they had done that trade the year before instead of the Thad trade I would 100% agree with it more but I didn’t hate it because it was fair value for what I deem a more than solid C.
People choose to cry about the Thad trade but to me I didn’t mind it as I guarantee had they not traded down they would’ve took Koloko regardless of who else was still on the board. Just wish they got a player and not an over the hill vet.
So to answer your question on the last five years I think they did better than most front offices. Especially the teams that were tanking 5 years ago and are either still tanking or just finally came up above water for a season or two before they’re back in the trenches. (Detroit and Orlando)

They are. The way it was done was horrendous. Not even tankers liked that. We won, so no s***storm has occured. But losing in that way we could have lost, thats the worst thing that can happen.
I just don't see it. 20 games left, need L's, most fans aren't thinking twice about how we acquire those L's. The pearl clutching was a bit surprising to me personally, but hey, I get it.
I haven't seen many writers speak out about this. Which ones are you referring to?

I read Grange's Poeltl piece and he defended management. He's been on board with going over the top to tank all year. Was it a different piece? I couldn't find Oren Weisfeld's piece. Source? I read Louis Zatsman's critical opinion on RR. Kia Nurse had an honest reaction, as an actual athlete, that I think should be respected.
I didn't see much pushback at all, but I didn't really try that hard. This has been a boring-a** season that I've mostly tapped out of, but I caught this game and it actually seems like maybe the players will full on go for the play-in and dare the FO to **** with Scottie's contract incentives.

Tweets, not pieces. Weisfeld in particular had multiple outraged tweets & quote tweet arguing with fans who didn't agree. It was just an interesting juxtaposition to see that night, fans didn't seem to care, writers seemed enraged. Just interesting

Got it. I'm not on twitter, so a lot of that kind of stuff is going to be lost on me. I do think that fans care, though. I've already talked to several of them in person who didn't like how that went down. They made repeated attempts to sabotage the game.

Based on their definition both of those teams are giving “treadmill”, because they aren’t tanking but they aren’t contenders either. And how they are set up right now I can’t see either contending in the near future.
Tankers just pick and choose who they want to praise and hate on when it benefits them. It’s why they’re all on my block list. Everything they say is so disingenuous. They say the positive people on this board overrate our players too much (which is a lie. It’s probably like 2-3 posters at most who do that), but they overrate every other team and player. They are just the opposite extreme lol.
Everyone is perfect and doing everything right except the Raptors. Or everyone else is in a better position than the Raptors. It’s just funny to witness. Such an unserious group lol
Miserable people see things through a miserable lens. And miserable people are only happy when others are miserable as well, when they can drag others down with them.
You can see it, when the definition of tanking is changed all the time to whatever is convenient for tankers. But whatever the Raps front office does is miserable, unless it's making everyone else miserable.
There is an incredibly easy solution to your problems. Just block 3-4 specific posters and all of your issues about miserable posters will go away. I can’t have any sympathy for you when the resolution to your problems is so simple. I can’t give you a list of who to block but you can figure it out.
If you keep engaging with these miserable posters you don’t get to complain. You guys are punching yourself in the face and complaining about getting hit all of the time.

Re: PG: Raps win with some Darko magic
The wiggins year everyone was hyping up… two can’t miss prospects in wiggins and Parker. Best one ended up being embiid. Lavine went 13th. Julius Randle 7th. Aaron Gordon 4th and Marcus smart 6th both just good starter/role players but not stars.
The draft is hard. Regardless of where we pick in the top 10, it’s up to the scouting department to figure it out. What is cooper flaggs best case comp?

Grange has pushed for the tank in previous years so I don’t think he is against this tank.
