Yeah. We'll be fine. I like the roster construction honesty. We could use better fitting depth pieces for sure. I think we need a new HC but, he's getting a pass too. When the dust clears in a few months, then we can move on to what we should do next season. This year we need to let it play out and try to enjoy the ride. Anything is possible!
Yeah that’s how I see it as well
If we lose in the first round or get blown out of the water and swept/gentelmen’s swept in the 2nd he might be gone. And that’s ok, he had a nice run taking us from the depths to relevancy. But we are reaching a point where it would make sense. We have gone all in, and if we can’t win with him the clock is ticking and we gotta pivot and try someone else. Despite his flaws I don’t think he is nearly as bad of a coach as people make it out to be or expect that replacement can magically cure all our problems either. There are a lot of valid criticisms about player weaknesses and roster construction/depth that will be a challenge for anybody who comes in. And no assets to improve.
But for now he’s the coach, the team is set, might as well enjoy the home stretch and hope for the best because this is the team

There's never anything easy in a Thibs offense.
Brunson is such a warrior. The best signing of the 2020s.
KAT got scored on for 7pts in that clip but had no points himself. Brunson needs some help from his co-star. I see Luka and Lebron hitting tough shots in iso all the time but KAT needs to be wide open to score.
yeah, people need to stop with this draw up a play at the end of games stuff. everybody is relying on their best players ability to create for themselves in that spot. that's the nba. motherf*ckers on here act like this is a movie from the 80s where, in some small midwestern town, the lesser talented guys with gumption play as a team and win against a team of uber-athletes who play for themselves. this aint hoosiers bitches. grow up.

They failed to inbound the ball properly and had to go to the backcourt. Brunson took too long and had to bail out of the good double team and then Hart had a brain fart and forgot how time works and didn’t attempt a shot because he’s scared to shoot. Much easier to blame the coach but it’s pretty commons sense in that situation to tell your star PG to get a bucket or create. Which works often, since he’s one of the most clutch players in the nba and just had that game winning dish to OG the other day in a similar situation. They just failed to execute. And good D by LA to prevent the inbounds and double team

Hart shouldn't have been on the floor, it's easy to blame the coach when a non shooter is on the floor in a close game and the other team completely ignores him. Deuce could have been 0-100, I would still rather have him on the floor because nobody is just going to sprint full speed off him to double a ball handler. If you don't trust Deuce there put in Shamet or Payne, but the point stands, Hart was treated exactly how you'd expect him to be treated in late game.

Hart not being out there is an argument but he has made clutch shots in the past. Lost me at 0-100 doodeuce we saw what he offers at the end of OT

I heard that a 'modern coach' would have us beating all those teams whatever that new meme means. Its a coincidence that the coaches they want have the best players.
JJ Redick: Give the ball to Lebron or Luka and have them make a play
Knicks fans: wow he's such a genius modern NBA coach
The reason the ball sticks is because JB wants it to stick. He can do whatever he wants with the ball and this is what he chooses.TKKnicks1 wrote:3toheadmelo wrote:god shammgod wrote:and i know it's all thibs fault as usual, not that he's without fault, but if you think that this roster with another coach can get 4 wins against the cavs, 4 wins against celtics and 4 wins against whoever comes out of the west you're kidding yourself. you'll be lucky if you can just accomplish the 1st one.
Like I said in another post, I don’t mind getting an upgrade over Thibs. But this roster ain’t it, no matter who the coach is.
I'm not convinced of this. I really think a modern day HC that actually has some sense of running an offense will bring out the best in this team. All through the summer after we acquired KAT we heard about how lethal the top of the key PnR would be with JB/KAT and we never see it. Our PnRs are only used to switch defenders and rarely do we actually get a pass out of them.
Thibs was ISO heavy and continues to be. There is no reason why the ball should be sticking to JB as much as it does when you have KAT/Mikal/OG as your 2nd, 3rd and 4th option. But how many times do we actually see some plays designed for our 2nd, 3rd and 4th option?
This team is winning on pure talent with high BBIQ players with great passing skills and instincts. Thibs doesn't know how to utilize the strengths of his players by setting up plays for them that will lead to success, this further shows in his inability to get anything productive out of his bench who aren't as high BBIQ and lack the instincts the starters do. The one thing Thibs does do well is instill confidence in his starters and that's why they play their a$$ off for him. Get a coach in here that not only instills confidence but instills some sort of game plan that sets everyone up to utilize their strengths and I assure you it will bring out the beast in this roster.

My captain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Heal up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How can we get a legitimate star to play with Brunson? We just traded 5 first round picks for a role player with overrated defense.
All we had to do last year is stand pat and than make a major move with our assets, but we decided to blow all the chemistry this team in 2024

Exactly how many plays do you see run for KAT? The same amount as his points. Why would you purposely leave out such an important detail?

They had their chance to click. This is who they are.
