Poeltl free throw percentage improved

Post#1 » by Indeed » Fri Mar 7, 2025 6:44 pm

It seems he has been shooting the free throw well this year.
He was shooting below 60% for his career, now he seems to be getting to the 70%. I think he can be a 70% free throw shooter, and might able to shoot in the 75%, which may allow him to play closing minutes without the worry of intentional fouls (hack da Shaq).

Split by month

Code: Select all

October    5   2.6   3.4   76.5
November    15   1.9   3.3   59.2
December    8   2.8   3.5   78.6
January    15   0.7   1.3   50.0
February    4   1.3   1.8   71.4
March        2   4.5   5.0   90.0

Great to see improvement, if poeltl can work on his 3pt range next, that will unlock 5 out offense

He needs to overhaul his shot, if he wants to be an above average shooter.

He hits 3's but it's like he still flings it. That an clean up turnovers.

Poeltl is good enough. Though he might be sacrificed again for a star.

A star player at C?
I really don't see upgrade options at C.

I remember he shot some 3s towards the end of his first stint with the Raps, and it actually looked decent. And then he went to the Spurs... and they obviously had no interest in cultivating that skill. The one he hits here against SAC around the 50 second mark looked promising:

But at this stage of his career, I doubt he'll be shooting 3s unless it's a miracle heave against the buzzer.

He's shooting a career-high at the line at the moment, and it's nice to see.

It was always the one bad thing about him. So it is nice to see that he bumped it up.
