Deni is one of the most underrated "do it all" wings in the NBA

Clingan is a stalwart big, holds down the paint, perfect dirty work big man, screen setter, rim protector, etc.

Shaedon Sharpe is basically a Thompson level athletic freak, high flying athlete begging for transition plays

Portland has quietly assembled a deadly young core of elite talent and the best part is that these guys are going to not be maxed out all. Deni is already on a steal of an extension. Camara is 24 and won't get that max level money.

Portland plays hard right now, they play hard and they play to win vs. every team.

What are you thinking here in terms of what they should do?

Should they use their pick on a lead guard, try to trade the pick for a buy low candidate guard with upside potential, trade for an under utilized guard, plug in a vet or give up multiple assets for an actual star guard?

draft - (assuming they don't move up) Demin, Fears, Traore or Richardson.

buy low candidate - Reed Sheppard

expanded role - Pritchard

vet - Vanvleet

star guard - Ball

They'll probably just draft one of the 4 guys listed above.

Portland's core does seem specifically to suit a superstar PG because the surrounding pieces mesh well and the usage is there to be taken. I think you can make a good argument for Houston though.

No.They are playing hard and Scoot is perfect for them, He's still coming off the bench but hes putting it together, worst thing you could do is gut it, grab a "Star" PG this early after running a young team for 20 games and over-reacting because Dallas/Suns had the bottom fall out of them and you sneak into the play-in

Portland has so many issues.

They need better shooters, they need rebounding, and they need a center that gets to the free throw line more than 1.5 times per game. They have six players that average double-digit field goal attempts....That's a fail.

They have deadweight and won't go anywhere with this roster.
