Game 62: Kings (32-29) vs Spurs (26-34)

Post#1 » by codydaze » Sat Mar 8, 2025 3:12 am

First game back at home after a road trip and the first night De'Aaron Fox returns to G1C. Without Wemby, this needs to be a win. Don't let emotions get the best of you and take care of business.

some boos for Fox, lol. but not too much.. I didn't hear the opening lineup reception..

will be interesting to see how his San Antonio wish plays out.. his wife's family is from there, but basketball wise its a mercurial bet.. If Wemby stays healthy, you could be playing with a generational talent. If he doesn't, that pick for us might be gold. Wemby is talented, but the durability of his unique body was always going to be in question (like Chet). Hopefully the blood clot is nothing serious

Wow, since I first complained about Zach tonight he been putting on a lesson of us getting the better player for the hassle of draft compensation in the trade

Very good 2nd quarter.

What I have liked over the last probably 3 games is Keon is Keon, Keegan is Keegan, but Lavine has been putting in effort on that end, for the most part. He will always have a few blow by's, but IMO he has been doing a decent job.
It's to the point I would like to see it against some of the better teams.

And Deebo can be on this team forever. I ride with his heart, and he still is a net positive at his age, even if in future seasons he’s a bench scoring plug

The dude was the worst +/- in the starting line-up by 7. Kept the Spurs in the game. It's clear he wants to be the clutch guy again and wants it to be close in the 4th. This team is playing exceptionally in spite of his poor play.
8/19 Bad Shooting Night
3 TO worst on the team

Go back and watch how many 3s he let happen in the corner plus the blow bys. It was MANY. Again. Kept the Spurs in the game where the bench should have been in there for most of the last.

And again. What a job on the defensive end by Keon and Keegan. The latter kept Vassell to 10 points.

Great way to welcome fox back. Always will be a kings legend, glad we got best of him today and hope we can leave the fox talk in the past and move forward!

Laravia is the man
Keegan is a stud
Keon is a game changer
JV is huge lol
Lavine couldn't miss a 3
Best minutes from Carter in awhile

On the other side Castle is an absolute monster. Really wanted him in the trade but obvious why they wouldn't include him. Future star

Zach could be a good defender. Hes really got all the tools. Long, athletic, quick. His problem is clearly effort. If a guy like that actually buckled down he could be a 2 way star

Demar is interesting because he's probably a top 5 iso scorer in the league. But realistically he hurts the team as much as he helps. So many times we are rolling, passing, moving the ball and he just starts doing his own thing.

I think the team should pick 1 of demar/monk this offseason and move forward. Demar is probably better bucket getter, but overall i prefer monk. We know the 3 guys can't co-exist starting. Trade demar, move monk to the bench. Best case would be adding a big point guard maybe like Dejounte, that way 1-3 we could switch and would have a real pg.

Big pg/Monk
Keon/Carter
Lavine
Keegan/Laravia
Sabonis/JV
