Kings/Mavs DDR for Klay/PJ

Post#1 » by Astaluego » Sat Mar 8, 2025 8:02 am

KINGS
In: Washington/Klay
Out:DDR

Sabonis/Valanciunas
Washington/LaRavia
Murray/Klay
Lavine/Ellis
Monk/Carter

They balance the roster, get size on the wing and more shooting... then sign Simmons in free agency

MAVS
In:DDR
Out:PJ/Klay

gets an elite scorer to keep Dallas afloat until KI returns... DDR with his improved 3 point shooting and Dallas' supposed defense should fit well.. he also brings much needed playmaking..

(Extra)
Ideally they continue to trade Gafford+ for pieces that fit better... I still really like Gafford/Hardy+ for Lonzo/J.Smith .. with Gafford a 3 team that offers value to the Bulls+ some additional compensation Dallas sends (SRP/O-Max/FRP swap etc)

Love it for sac. Think we owe Dallas at least 2-3 2nds here. Washington is my favorite fit next to sabonis/Keegan. And I think SAC needs to pick one of monk/derozan to move forward with.

Derozan can still fill it up, and Naji helps make Washington more expendable. Also like the follow up trade with Bulls.

Lively/Smith
AD/Naji
Demar/Martin
Christie/Exum
Ball/dinwiddie/(Kyrie)

I think Dallas could do damage next year when they get healthy, and Demar/AD surrounded by 3&D guys can easily keep a top 6 seed.

Yes..the Mavs would also have the Hardy/Powell/Mashall contracts + this year's FRP to do something additional at the deadline.

(Hardy/Powell/Smith/Marshall+FRP MAVS 25 for
J.Collins/Sexton/SRP)

AD/Lively/K.Jones
Collins/O-Max/K.Edwards
DDR/Martin
Christie/Sexton/SD
Lonzo/Exum/B.Williams

Would the Kings send a FRP here..?

Washington/Klay to KINGS

DDR/Lonzo/White/JSmith to MAVS

Hardy/Powell/Gafford(moved for value to 3 team)/FRP(Lot prot KINGS) to BULLS

I prefer to extend him and then trade him, he doesn't have a lot of value on expiring, I don't think Kings should pay a 1st.

Yeah I think the Kings owe some 2nds here.

Not sure how Klay would react to being a bench player though.

I don’t think this is any number of 2nds away for Dallas. PJW is both younger and more valuable on the court than DDR

I'm not in love with this deal for the Kings. But I think youre getting too caught up on DDR age. He's still performing at a very high rate. The mavs window is now much shorter with the addition of AD. The mavs have a Lita y of 4 and 5s on their roster and are thinner on the wings. DDR gives the Mavs a strong wing scorer which they don't have. The premise makes sense. I just wish to turn Klay into something else for the Kings purposes.

Klay for Isaak? Isaak is basically an expiring contract, and I think they could really use him as a specialist... For the Magic...even the current Klay would be a blessing for them, in my opinion...

DeRozan is viewed as a liability on both ends by many. He gets no credit despite putting up 22/4/4 on 49/36/87 splits. Ridiculous.
