Think we will continue to see Coby score well and Bulls will make the play in, lose, and AK will think we have our core.
He will draft his Vuc replacement in Malauch, keep Coby, and only trade Vuc for a 2nd.
Bulls will be a play in team at the deadline next season and he will trade Ayo Huerter and Collins/Smith with the POR pick and our pick for a star to complete his rebuild. Prob adds our 28 pick too.
What can we get for that package?
Giddey Coby Zo Pat Buz Smith Malauch.
What star is gettable that would make us a legit playoff team?
I believe AK again is making malpractice mistakes but this is what he does.

To keep Turner without paying tax, pacers need to move a contract or three. We also lack a 2026 first. Turner, Haliburton, Nembhard, and Siakam are off limits. Nesmith, Toppin, or Mathurin could be moved for a rookie contract or a 2026 FRP.

Re: Bulls 26 Plan - Trade for a Star
Right now Huerter and Zach Collins have negative value but will be expirings next season, so the latest you can use them in a trade is by the deadline in february 2026 By then they should be valued as salary filler.
Ayo has some value but less than you'd think, because he's expiring next season and undersized combo guards aren't really a hot commodity (see: Sexton, Anfernee Simons, etc), particularly when you need to pay them.
The Blazers pick has a chance to convey eventually, but it'll be outside the lottery, if the Bulls are a play in team and you trade for a star that pick's value diminishes and also in this framework you can't assume you're trading a top pick.
So IMO this is: decent expiring combo guard + FRP around 10 + FRP in the 15-20 range + filler. That package doesn't really land you a star unless we're taking very special circumstances, like say the Siakam or Ingram deals. I could see that being close to Zion value though, maybe that's an option.

We're talking about the next deadline? I guess Dallas will be in trouble at that time..P.Williams/White/Maluach/Giddey/Smith+FRP for AD...
Next summer the Bulls will only have AD/Lonzo and Buzelis on rookie contracts...
KD and Irving sign and they reach free agency...and they would still have the rights to Vuc/Ayo
Lonzo/Irving/KD/AD/Vuc..
+Ayo/Buzelis

Bulls might go bankrupt by just having to take care of the medical bills.

I think there are a richer buyers in the star market.
Unless you want to gamble on the 36 year olds.

Re: Bulls 26 Plan - Trade for a Star
Can't be done. The Bulls would have to trade so much to get Mr. Star that they'd just fill in the roster with minimum guys because they don't have the quality depth once they give up the value for Mr. Star. The owners don't want one championship and then be stuck with an aging team that needs the next 10 year rebuild.
